Erie Street, an independent advisory firm that works with founders and management teams to achieve next-level growth, has appointed Matt Hallgren as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).In this new role, Hallgren will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations for both Erie Street and Performance Improvement Partners (PIP), an Erie Street company, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, internal controls, and investor relations, while also designing and developing the firms’ M&A strategies. In addition, he will support the evaluation and strategic integration of acquisitions for Erie Street and its partner companies. Hallgren will report to Jerry Graunke, Principal, Erie Street.

“Erie Street is excited to bring Matt’s vast experience in finance, technology, and advisory to the firm, which make him extremely well-suited for the role,” says Graunke. “As we move forward in the context of today’s environment, there couldn’t be a better time for Matt to be joining our team. I am confident that he will be an incredible addition, and that he will have invaluable, long-term impact on our firm and partners.”

Prior to joining Erie Street, Matt served as Chief Financial Officer of Glencoe Capital, a private equity firm focused on lead-sponsor acquisitions and growth equity investments for middle market companies. Prior to that, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Press Ganey, and has also held leadership roles at Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc., Boeing, and Deloitte. “Erie Street’s reputation as a trusted advisor and proven business builder is exceptional, and I look forward to helping further the firm’s mission to help businesses achieve next-level performance,” says Hallgren. “Today’s environment, while difficult on many levels, creates opportunity for Erie Street to have an even greater impact on the future of our partner organisations, and I’m thrilled to be part of that journey.”

Hallgren’s appointment comes on the heels of Erie Street’s recent strategic partnership with APCO Worldwide, designed to support the continued expansion of APCO Worldwide’s strategic advisory offering and geographic footprint. As part of the partnership, Erie Street Chairman and CEO, Terry Graunke, was also appointed to lead director of APCO Worldwide’s board.
