The Stanhope Entrepreneurs Fund (SEF), a growth capital fund managed by Stanhope Capital, has completed its first investment, acting as the lead investor in a circa USD90 million equity raise into S4 Capital (S4), a digital advertising and marketing services company established by Sir Martin Sorrell earlier this year. The capital was raised by S4 to fund the acquisition of MightyHive for a total consideration of USD150 million. MightyHive is the San Francisco-based market-leading programmatic solutions provider for forward-thinking marketers and agencies. JenCap Holdings has agreed to acquire privately held Special Risks Facilities, an MGA/contract binding authority and wholesale insurance brokerage firm based in Sterling Heights, Michigan with another office in Peoria, Arizona. Special Risks was formed in 1971 and is led by Jack Klebba and Randy Kaszeta.   JenCap Holdings (JCH) was formed in March 2016 by The Carlyle Group and JCH management to consolidate specialty insurance distribution businesses, including managing general agents, program managers and transactional wholesale brokers. Alternative investment firm Värde Partners has held the final close of the Värde Asia Credit Fund with approximately USD400 million of committed capital. The fund, which exceeded its USD250 million target and closed after six months, is the firm’s first Asia-dedicated vehicle. The fund has the flexibility to invest across corporate credit, special situations lending, and stressed and distressed real estate investments throughout Asia Pacific.   Värde expects the opportunity set to be driven by structural and cyclical factors in the region, including bank retrenchment and less developed capital markets, as well as sectors with high leverage and slowed growth

ZEDRA, a global provider of trust, corporate and fund services, has acquired the JP Integra Group (JP Integra), a Cayman-based provider of fund, corporate and trustee services. JP Integra, which currently has in excess of USD6 billion in assets under administration, has particular expertise in assisting international private, institutional and sovereign clients with all aspects of structuring and operating structures for joint ventures, wealth management, asset protection and collective investments.   The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to complete in the first half of 2019, substantially increases ZEDRA’s capabilities in providing the most appropriate structuring
Gary Barnett, founder and president of New York property company Extell Development Company, has acquired British kitchen furniture maker Smallbone of Devizes and its sister brands Mark Wilkinson Furniture and Brookmans. Alternative investment specialist Aquila Capital has launched a new green bond with a volume of EUR50 million and a duration of five years via the Norwegian hydropower operator SmÃ¥kraft AS to finance the company’s further growth. With over 100 hydropower plants across Norway and an annual energy production of 1 TWh, SmÃ¥kraft AS is already the biggest independent operator of small-scale hydropower plants in Europe.
