Wellspring Capital Management (Wellspring) has closed Wellspring Capital Partners VI with capital commitments totalling the hard cap of USD1.415 billion.
The 2011 Wellspring Capital Partners V LP was fully invested at USD1.2 billion and has generated positive returns for its investors to-date.
Fund VI brings the firm’s assets under management to more than USD4.4 billion. Limited partners include leading pension funds, endowments, fund of funds and family offices from the US, Europe and Asia.

Clearlake Capital Group has acquired Perforce Software (Perforce), a developer of a scalable and secure version control and collaboration platform, from growth equity investor Summit Partners.
The Company will continue to be led by Janet Dryer, CEO, and Mark Ties, COO, who will both join the Board of Directors alongside Clearlake. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Octopus Investments is to utilise the GBP80 million over allotment facility in its current fundraise for the UK’s largest VCT, Octopus Titan VCT, after investor demand took the total fundraising amount to record-breaking levels.
Octopus Titan VCT rapidly reached its initial target of GBP120 million within just four months and is now offering an additional GBP80 million of fundraising capacity to meet investor demand ahead of tax year end. The target of GBP200 million will be the largest ever fundraise by a VCT and, once fully subscribed, would increase the total fund size to over GBP600 million.
Octopus Titan
Sheprd – The On-Demand School Bus – has secured USD1 million in venture capital funding from InMotion Ventures, Jaguar Land Rover’s venture capital arm.
In addition to funding, the relationship includes providing Sheprd, on a non-exclusive basis, with a fleet of Land Rover SUV vehicles.

Premium bar and restaurant, The Alchemist, has secured an additional GBP16 million finance package from existing debt funders, Santander, to support its continued growth plans across the UK.
The new capital from Santander will be invested into the continued innovation of the brand, rejuvenating existing sites and the acquisition of new locations. The Alchemist recently opened a purpose-built venue at MediaCityUK, a new regional site in Oxford and has since confirmed openings in Nottingham, Bristol and Cardiff for the year ahead.

Automotive alliance Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi has launched Alliance Ventures, a new corporate venture capital fund that plans to invest up to USD1 billion to support open innovation over the next five years.
