Elevate Innovation Partners (EIP) has held the first close of its Venture Capital fund at USD15 million.
Consistent with EIP’s focus, the fund will seek to capitalise fintech, enterprise software, marketing analytics and new media platform startups that have validated business models and are generating revenue. The geographic focus is on the US East Coast with selective investments in India, Germany and Netherlands – all regions where the fund has local partners.

Cannon Safe, a specialist in residential safes, has partnered with private equity firm MidOcean Partners (MidOcean) to acquire Stack-On Products (Stack-On), a provider of secure storage and home organisation products.
The combined business will be led by Aaron Baker, Chief Executive Officer of Cannon Safe, who is maintaining a meaningful stake in the company.

One Equity Partners, a middle market private equity firm, has exited Netaş, a Turkish technology and telecommunications systems integration and software development company.
The interest was sold to ZTE Corp., a Chinese multi-national telecommunications equipment and systems business serving the Mobile Internet, for $101 million, subject to certain adjustments.
Headquartered in Istanbul and founded in 1967, Netaş’ is the number one system integrator in Turkey. WHIreland has acted as sole bookrunner to Surgical Innovations Group, a designer and manufacturer of medical technology for minimally invasive surgery, on its GBP5.5 million fundraising.
The funds are being used in connection with the acquisition of Elemental Healthcare Limited, a UK-based specialist distributor of medical products, which has been the exclusive distributor of SI branded products in the UK since 2007.

The State Street Global Exchange Private Equity Index (GXPEI) continued its gains going into 2017, rising 3.95 per cent in the first quarter representing the highest quarterly return in two years.
The increase was driven by the strong performance of Buyout Funds and Private Debt, along with a significant improvement in Venture Capital.
Overall the index has continued to see positive net cash flows to investors in Q1 going into Q2 with contributions remaining steady and low while distributions have increased slightly as compared to the same period of 2016.
