LeapFrog Investments has sold part of its stake in IFMR Capital to Standard Chartered Private Equity.
The exit comes on the heels of a similar sale by LeapFrog to Fidelity’s Eight Road Ventures in November.
Standard Chartered intends to invest up to USD50 million, with the first tranche of USD17 million already completed. LeapFrog remains a leading shareholder and backer of the enhanced business.

Global investment bank GCA Altium has advised Piper and the company founders on the sale of Loungers, the UK café-bar and restaurant group, to Lion Capital in a deal worth GBP137 million.
This marks GCA Altium’s 35th transaction in the consumer and retail space since 2014, adding to deals such as Prezzo and New Look.

Advent International has agreed to sell its 93.29 per cent interest in Devin, a producer and distributor of bottled water in Bulgaria, to Spadel, a European family-owned company specialising in the production of natural mineral water, spring water and natural fruit drinks.
The transaction values Devin at a EUR120 million enterprise value and is subject to the approval of the Bulgarian Commission for Protection of Competition.

Munich-based industrial holding company Adcuram Group has acquired 98.57 per cent of luxury kitchen manufacturer Poggenpohl Möbelwerke, based in Herford (Northrhine-Westfalia).
The transaction with the previous majority shareholder, Swedish-listed Nobia, which was signed on 19 December 2016, is still subject to customary regulatory approval.
Poggenpohl, known for its Porsche-Design products, generates annual revenues of around EUR110 million and employs 500 staff. The origins of Poggenpohl date back to 1892 when the company was founded as Germany’s first kitchen brand. Since 2000 Poggenpohl has been majority-owned by Swedish listed corporate Nobia.

Stirling Square Capital Partners, a pan-European mid-market private equity firm, has acquired AD Industrie, a French manufacturer of complex, critical sub-assemblies and components for the aerospace, defence and energy markets.
AD Industrie was acquired for an undisclosed amount from majority owner Ingefin (a family holding company), and minority investors BPI France and GE Capital.
AD Industrie is headquartered in Paris and generates revenues in excess of EUR200 million. It employs more than 1,500 people across manufacturing facilities in France, Tunisia, and Morocco.

Volution Group, a supplier of ventilation products to the residential and commercial construction markets, has acquired the entire share capital of Breathing Buildings.
The deal provides an exit for the company’s previous backers including MMC Ventures.
Breathing Buildings is based in Cambridge, UK and was formed in 2006 by Dr Shaun Fitzgerald from a collaboration between Cambridge University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

UK peer-to-peer (P2P) finance platform Assetz Capital has lent a record GBP105 million to UK businesses in 2016 to date.
Experiencing increasing growth during the year, including a final quarter when it lent as much as in the whole of 2015, Assetz Capital is now providing secured loans of GBP25 million per month to businesses.

Kohlberg & Company, a private equity firm specialising in middle market investing, has held the final closing of its eighth private equity fund, Kohlberg Investors VIII, with USD2.2 billion in total commitments.
