AdvancePierre Foods has completed the acquisition of the manufacturing assets of Better Bakery, (Better Bakery), a Valencia, California-based manufacturer of premium stuffed sandwiches.  Production is being relocated to AdvancePierre’s sandwich manufacturing operation in Caseyville, Ill. The addition of Better Bakery’s premium, handcrafted stuffed sandwiches expands AdvancePierre’s ready-to-eat sandwich platform and enables new distribution and market penetration with premium and natural food customers. Funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, are AdvancePierre’s majority shareholder. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
TPG Growth, the middle market and growth equity investment platform of TPG, announced today the closing of TPG Growth III, its largest fund dedicated to investments in small- and mid-sized growth companies.  The fund reached over USD3 billion in aggregate capital commitments, surpassing its fundraising target of USD2.75 billion in five months. “The interest in our third fund speaks to the success of TPG’s growth equity strategy. International law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton is advising Santander Asset Management on its merger with Pioneer Investment.  Santander Asset Management is a joint venture between private equity funds Warburg Pincus and General Atlantic (as to 50 per cent) and Santander SA (as to 50 per cent). CGSH is also advising the private equity funds on the transaction. Pioneer is owned by Unicredit.   The combined company, with approximately EUR353 billion in assets under management at the close of 2014, will be called Pioneer Investments. Private equity firm Thoma Bravo and Teachers’ Private Capital, the private investor department of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, have completed their acquisition of Riverbed Technology, a specialist in application performance infrastructure.  The acquisition is valued at approximately USD3.5 billion, with Riverbed stockholders receiving USD21.00 per share in cash. London-listed private equity firm JZ Capital Partners Limited has acquired Midwest Valve Parts (MVP) alongside its long-term investment partner The Edgewater Funds. The acquisition of MVP is an add-on to Industrial Services Solutions’ (ISS) existing Specialty Products Group (SPG), and marks the third acquisition made into SPG (joining Worthington Compressors and Parts Service International). Led by Jim Rogers, a GE veteran who has extensive industry experience, ISS is generating annual sales and EBITDA in excess of USD260 million and USD45 million, respectively.   MVP is an independent supplier of replacement parts for valves, actuators, and related equipment to valve remanufacturers,
Institutional Venture Partners (IVP), a later-stage venture capital and growth equity firm, has launched IVP XV, a USD1.4 billion fund, the largest fund raised in the firm’s 35-year history, which brings cumulative committed capital to USD5.4 billion.  The fund was significantly oversubscribed, with IVP’s existing Limited Partners contributing the vast majority of the fund.   The fund’s General Partners are Todd Chaffee, Somesh Dash, Steve Harrick, Eric Liaw, Jules Maltz, Sandy Miller, and Dennis Phelps. After 26 years as a General Partner at IVP, Norm Fogelsong will serve the new fund as an Advisory Partner.  Collectively, the Partners have more than

Fund Performance Closed-end private real estate funds have posted positive changes in NAV for 18 consecutive quarters, with Q3 2014 seeing an average 1.9 per cent increase in NAV (Fig 1).
