Trax Technologies has completed its previously disclosed majority investment in Trax, made in partnership with Trax’s current management team, led by Founder and CEO J Scott Nelson.
The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
“With this transaction complete, we are excited to continue building the Trax platform and services in support of our current and future global customer base,” says Nelson. “This investment will support further development, deployment, and support of existing and new products and services benefiting both buyers and sellers of logistics services.”

The European buy & build market saw increased activity in the second half of 2014 according to to Silverfleet Capital and mergermarket’s latest European Buy & Build Monitor.
The Monitor tracks global add-on activity undertaken by European headquartered companies backed by private equity.
A total of 169 add-ons were reported in H2 2014 compared to 124 in H1 2014, which was later upwardly revised to 158 as further data for smaller Buy & Build transactions usually emerges after the publication date. The number of deals in H2 2014 is therefore very likely to be revised upwards in the next report.
Spencer Capital Holdings has acquired SouthWest Dealer Services (SWDS), an independent full-service provider of finance and insurance (“F&I”) products and services to auto dealers in the United States.
SWDS has more than 250 employees that currently serve over 550 active dealers across 14 states in the south-western and mid-western US. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
SWDS is an independent full-service F&I distribution platform, founded in 1988 by Steve Alderson. Healthcare investment firm Vivo Capital has held the final closing of Vivo Capital Fund VIII at USD750 million, which brings the firm's total funds under management to more than USD1.7 billion.
Vivo plans to invest the capital primarily in later development stage pharmaceutical and medical device companies in the US and in revenue stage healthcare companies in greater China. This new injection follows a period of rapid growth and blue-chip company wins.
