Frazier Healthcare Partners has closed the Frazier Life Sciences Public Fund, exceeding its target and closing on nearly USD830 million in capital commitments in an oversubscribed fundraise.
Led by Managing Partner Albert Cha, General Partner and Portfolio Manager Jamie Brush, and Managing Partners Patrick Heron and James Topper, Frazier Life Sciences Public Fund is a long-only fund investing in small- and mid-cap public biotech companies. Frazier Life Sciences Public Fund marks Frazier’s first dedicated public life sciences fund, bringing the firm’s total committed capital raised since inception to over USD7.1 billion.

Macfarlanes has advised private equity firm August Equity on its co-investment alongside fellow private equity firm CVC Capital Partners for a minority stake in Medivet, a provider of veterinary services.
Medivet, which has been part-owned by private equity firm Inflexion since 2016, holds branches across the UK, Germany and Spain with over 450 centres in the UK and approximately 50 sites in Europe in partnership with local founders.

Forensic Analytics, a digital forensics company whose communications analysis software is used by police forces throughout the UK, has secured a GBP4.5 million investment from Mercia Asset Management PLC.
The funding, which comes from Mercia’s own balance sheet and the Northern VCT Funds managed by Mercia, will allow it to further invest into its innovative cloud-based software platform and expand its sales internationally.

T Rowe Price Group is to acquire alternative credit manager purchase Oak Hill Advisors and certain other entities that have common ownership for a purchase price of up to approximately USD4.2 billion.
USD3.3 billion is payable at closing, approximately 74 per cent in cash and 26 per cent in T Rowe Price common stock, and up to an additional USD900 million in cash upon the achievement of certain business milestones beginning in 2025.

Yugabyte, a specialist in open source distributed SQL databases, has closed USD188 million in an oversubscribed Series C funding round.
The round, led by Sapphire Ventures, includes participation from Alkeon Capital, Meritech Capital, and Wells Fargo Strategic Capital, as well as existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners, 8VC, Dell Technologies Capital, Wipro Ventures, and others. Sapphire President Jai Das also joins the Yugabyte Board of Directors. The round, which comes seven months after its previous round, brings the company’s total funding to over USD290 million and values Yugabyte at more than USD1.3 billion.
