Sequential Skin Ltd, a UK/Singapore biotech start-up has raised USD1.65 million in its oversubscribed seed round – to revolutionise the future of skin health.
The round was led by Metaplanet, and supported by Scrum Ventures, SOSV, Genedant, and angel investor, Ben Holmes (ex General Partner at Index Ventures). This latest investment brings the total venture funding raised by Sequential Skin to USD2.15 million in 2021.
The investment will be used to extend their B2B offering to skincare, haircare and healthcare companies, adding to the twelve major clients currently using Sequential Skin. Sequential Skin will also be rolling out their consumer
QED Investors, a global venture capital firm focused on investing in disruptive financial services companies, has named Tommy Blanchard as its Chief Operating Officer.
Blanchard joins QED from Capital One where he spent a total of 20 years, most recently as managing vice president, business analysis in Capital One’s Commercial Bank.

BSW Timber Ltd (BSW), a UK-based integrated forestry and sawmilling group, has been acquired by Binderholz.
The deal is subject to normal closing conditions and approval from the Austrian Competition Commission and UK Financial Conduct Authority.
Binderholz is a significant global sawmiller and producer of value added products, including cross laminated timber, Glulam beams, solid wood panels, pressed pallet blocks, wood pellets and briquettes. The business has demonstrated a solid consistent growth, now operating in Austria, Germany, Finland and the USA.

Intelligent property search portal property.xyz has secured a seed round of angel investment of GBOP268,000 from eleven, experienced investors in the fields of technology, finance and real estate.
Co-founders Robert Jones and Dr Simone Di Cola started development on property xyz in 2019, which entered a beta phase in August 2020.
