An affiliate of One Rock Capital Partners (One Rock) has successfully completed a previously announced investment in ArchKey Solutions (ArchKey), a North American electrical and technologies contracting and services provider, alongside the Company’s management team. Weinberg Capital has acquired shares in the Bourdoncle group, a key player in the French bistro-catering industry. This is the fifth acquisition of Weinberg Capital’s fund LBO WCP#3.   Led by catering specialist Thierry Bourdoncle, the group currently owns 16 establishments in Paris (Durand Dupont in Neuilly, Le Dôme de Villiers in the 17th arrondissement, Le Hibou, Le Mabillon in the sixth arrondissement, the hotel-restaurant le Central in Trouville sur Mer) and is in the process of acquiring five other restaurants.   The transaction reflects the buy-and-build strategy of the LBO WCP#3 fund. NPIF – Maven Equity Finance, part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund (NPIF) and managed by Maven Capital Partners (Maven), has invested GBP250,000 in Boiler Plan to support the company’s growth and training centre in Featherstone, West Yorkshire. The transaction also includes a GBP500,000 investment from the North East Development Capital Fund, supported by the European Regional Development Fund also managed by Maven, and a further GBP750,000 was invested on behalf of the Government’s Future Fund. Velocity Ventures, a hospitality and travel-focused venture capital firm based in Singapore, announces the initial closing of the first-ever venture capital fund dedicated to hospitality and travel startups.  The fund has a Covid-19 themed investment mandate, focusing on supporting distressed and disrupting seed and early growth stage hospitality and travel startups in Southeast Asia.  The initial closing brings the fund close to 40 per cent of the targeted USD20 million commitment. Novalis Biotech, an early-stage venture capital investor in technologies aimed at revolutionising healthcare, has closed its EUR25 million second fund, the Novalis Biotech Acceleration Fund.  Both new and returning investors have participated in the fundraising. The second fund investor base includes institutional investors, such as Participatie Maatschappij Vlaanderen (PMV), family offices, as well as HNWIs.   The Biotech Acceleration Fund will continue to invest in start-up and scale-up companies that are transforming healthcare through “enabling technologies”.
