EW Healthcare Partners (EW) has acquired a majority stake in Laboratoires Majorelle (Majorelle) from its Founders to support its growth and European expansion in line with the Founders’ strategy.

The value of UK buyout deals by high-net worth investors (HNWs) shot up by 626 per cent in 2020, rising from GBP132 million in 2019 to GBP958 million, says Boodle Hatfield, the leading private wealth law firm. The increasing number of buyout deals led or co-funded by HNWs goes against the overall decline in deal value across the wider private equity market over the same period.

Wasabi, the hot cloud storage company, has secured USD112 million in Series C funding led by Fidelity Management & Research Company with participation from existing investors.  The round follows Wasabi’s USD27.5 million in debt financing announced in January. The C round brings Wasabi’s total equity financing to USD219 million.  The valuation of the C round was roughly triple the valuation of the company’s most recent equity round, which closed almost exactly one year ago.
