Flexstone Partners’ Global Opportunities IV, has attracted USD322 million of commitments after a first close in November 2020 and has already completed three investments.
Like its predecessors, the fund is backed by long-standing Flexstone Partners investors, including Natixis, as well as new, top-tier Institutional investors in Europe, Australia and Asia. The fund will make more than 40 investments in privately-owned companies across the world alongside high conviction managers.
With a focused investment strategy – providing increased exposure to high conviction managers in their core areas of expertise – Global Opportunities IV will follow the same strategy and selection processes

Nexif Energy, an Australian and South East Asian power company, backed by Denham Capital has reached financial close on its 154 MW Snapper Point Power Plant under construction in South Australia.
This project will convert turbines using diesel to cleaner natural gas and, in conjunction with Nexif Energy’s Lincoln Gap Wind Farm, provide firm renewable power to the grid.
The Snapper Point project is a flexible and fast response dispatchable power plant under fast-track development. The project, which received development approval in August 2020, will utilise five gas turbine generating units leased for 25 years from the South Australian
Mogrify Limited (Mogrify), a biopharmaceutical company aiming to transform the development of ex vivo cell therapies and pioneer a new class of in vivo reprogramming therapies, has held the second closing of its Series A financing of USD17 million, bringing the total raised to USD33 million in this round.
The funding will support the advancement of Mogrify’s immuno-oncology and ophthalmology programs, as well as continued platform development and the exploration of cell reprogramming for novel therapeutic application.
This second close of the Company’s Series A was led by Parkwalk Advisors and incorporates additional funding from strategic Corporate Pharma investor Astellas Venture
FCDE is to sell Babcock Wanson to Kartesia, a European specialist provider of capital solutions for small and mid-sized companies, which will invest in the transaction alongside the existing management team.
Following the completion of this sale, Kartesia will take control of a solid pan-European group, transformed and restructured since the 2016 carve out from its previous shareholder.

Law firm Seward & Kissel represented opportunistic credit manager Kennedy Lewis Investment Management in connection with its strategic partnership with York Capital Management to form Generate Advisors.
Under the partnership agreement, York’s approximately USD4 billion Collateral Loan Obligation (CLO) business and team, led by Rizwan Akhter, will transition to Generate Advisors and continue to manage York’s current CLO portfolio as well as any future CLOs issued by Generate Advisors.

Percival Menswear, a London-based contemporary menswear fashion brand, has secured a further GBP3 million investment from growth capital investor VGC Partners, following an initial investment of GBP150,000 in 2018.
The Hackney-based brand, which employs eight people, has set itself apart in recent years by creating collections that subvert the classics of the male wardrobe. This includes featuring in the David Beckham Eyewear campaign and curating a custom tour wardrobe of Niall Horan, as well as more recently collaborating with Brighton-based artist and illustrator Sophy Hollington.

New State Capital Partners (New State) has closed its third institutional investment fund, New State Capital Partners Fund III with USD450 million in committed capital.
The Fund was over-subscribed and closed on schedule at its hard cap in about four months after the official launch.
Fund III’s investors are comprised of a diverse and global group of public and private pension funds, consultants, endowments, foundations, funds of funds, and family offices. New State completed the fundraise of its second institutional fund in March 2018 with USD255 million of capital commitments and currently has USD1.2 billion in assets under management.

New Zealand based legal tech startup for in-house legal teams, LawVu, has raised USD1.8 million USD in venture funding co-led from Silicon Valley based, Shasta Ventures and AirTree Ventures in Australia.
The raise was also supported by New Zealand based NZ Growth Capital Partners (NZGCP) and existing investors.
LawVu will use the investment to continue its growth into the US and Australian markets, a global industry worth USD500 billion USD, with the US market being USD160 billion USD alone.
