Funds advised by Equistone Partners Europe (Equistone) have agreed to sell their majority stake in Nuremberg-based Eschenbach Holding (Eschenbach), a German spcialist in eyewear and low-vision products, offering correction frames and ready-to-wear sunglasses, with further strong positions in Europe and the US. Eschenbach is being acquired by British Inspecs Group (Inspecs), which is based in Bath and listed in London. Shore Capital Partners (Shore) has completed a recapitalisation of Old World Spices and Seasonings (old World), a manufacturer of custom ingredient solutions based in Overland Park, Kansas.Founded in 1988 as Industrial Ingredient Sales by John Jungk, Old World is a manufacturer of custom blended spices, seasonings, ingredients, dry food products, and sauces for the retail, foodservice, and industrial channels. Old World operates out of an SQF certified 78,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Concordia, Missouri. The Company also maintains a corporate office and R&D centre in Overland Park, Kansas. Forter, a specialist in e-commerce fraud prevention, has raised USD125 million in a Series E funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, Felix Capital and Itai Tsiddon, with participation from Sequoia Capital, NewView Capital, Scale Venture Partners, March Capital Partners and Commerce Ventures.The round propels Forter’s valuation to over USD1.3 billion. The funding will allow Forter to accelerate its vision of establishing an ecosystem of trust across online merchants, banks and payment providers to block fraud and give consumers the trust and convenience to shop freely. Moulded Foams, one of the UK’s largest independent producers of moulded foam products, has expanded its manufacturing presence across Scotland by adding Stornoway to its portfolio of sites.   Following an investment from BGF last year, the company, which has existing manufacturing sites in Cumbernauld and Peterhead as well as Lincolnshire and South Wales, has acquired Stornoway based Polybox Ltd.   Moulded Foams has already embarked on a reinvestment and renewal programme at the Western Isles based factory, investing in new machinery to support increased demand for fish farming in the Outer Hebrides. Hams Hall Sustainable Energy Ltd (HHSE) has secured an GBP800,000 loan from the Midlands Engine Investment Fund (MEIF) Debt Finance, managed by Maven Capital Partners (Maven). The company is set to use the funding to support the delivery of new contracts, including purchasing and installing a sustainable energy system for a Birmingham-based blue-chip customer.    HHSE forms part of a group of companies that have been set up by BasePower which utilises combined Heat and Power (“CHP”) technology to capture the heat formed during power generation. Eurazeo PME, a subsidiary of Eurazeo that specialises in investing in medium-sized companies, is to acquire Altaïr group. The deal involves Eurazeo PME investing around EUR115 million in the Group. Eurazeo PME would hold a majority stake alongside Altaïr management and key executives.   Altaïr was founded in 1946 by the Brunel brothers, and is a leading European producer of household and home care products. Operating in a resilient sector that has demonstrated steady growth over the last 20 years, the Group generated around EUR105 million of revenue in 2019 and maintained its growth trajectory despite the ongoing sanitary crisis.  
Hg has made an investment in The Septeo Group (Septeo), a European specialist in LegalTech. Mid-market private equity investor Livingbridge has agreed the sale of Giacom, a specialist cloud services marketplace which provides cloud services to SMEs via the Information Technology Consultants (ITCs) community. The investment was originally made from the Livingbridge six fund. SynOx Therapeutics Ltd (SynOx), a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company, has closed a EUR37 million Series A financing co-led by HealthCap and Medicxi and joined by investors Forbion and Gimv.  SynOx, a spin out of Celleron Therapeutics Ltd (Celleron), secured exclusive world-wide rights for the clinical development, manufacturing and commercialisation of emactuzumab under a licence agreement with Roche. The financing will enable SynOx to continue the development of emactuzumab, for the treatment of diffuse tenosynovial giant cell tumours (TGCT), also known as pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS), and other indications.
