Headquartered in London, Lending Works is the UK’s leading disrupter in providing consumer credit through partnerships. Launched in 2014, Lending Works has grown to become one of the largest alternative lenders in the UK having lent almost GBP250 million to loan customers.

RBS International has supported private equity group EQT by participating in its latest flagship buyout fund’s subscription credit facility. As well as being another example of the bank’s considerable support of EQT’s funds over the years, and of the Private Equity industry more broadly, this represents the first ESG-linked fund-level facility of this size in the global fund financing market.
Funded by a syndicate of lenders, the facility includes an ESG pricing mechanism and is designed to incentivise the performance of the fund’s portfolio companies in improving their ESG (environmental, social and governance) performance.

Nanotechnology business, MIP Diagnostics, has completed a GBP5.1 million funding round to accelerate its global expansion. The co-investment has come from Mercia Asset Management, a founding investor and the largest shareholder in the company, and was led by Downing Ventures (GBP1.4m), BGF (GBP2m) and Calculus Capital.Bedfordshire-based MIP Diagnostics has developed a proprietary process for the manufacture of synthetic polymer alternatives to antibodies, known as Molecularly Imprinted Polymers (MIPs) and nanoMIPs. The company develops and manufactures synthetic affinity reagents – small molecules that are designed to bind to specific target molecules for detection, purification or extraction purposes.

AXA Venture Partners has led a USD5.8 million financing round in Unlatch, a French digital real estate sales company, including USD4.5 million in equity and USD1.3 million in debt.
Luxury homeware wholesaler, Fifty One Percent Limited, has secured a GBP250k finance package from the Midlands Engine Investment Fund Debt Finance, managed by Maven Capital Partners.The funding will allow the Leicestershire-based business to hire four additional staff, while expanding its product line and sales and marketing function.
Fifty One Percent operates as a wholesaler and distributor of homeware products including porcelain and chinaware, soft-furnishings, kitchen textiles and bathroom accessories. The firm lists major retailers as customers including John Lewis, Harrods’ and Selfridges. The firm also supplies internationally to Anthropologie, David Jones, De Bijenkorf and Galeries Lafayette.

Elysian Capital has held a first close of its third fund, having raised 90 per cent of the fund’s target of GBP 300 million in three months, since officially launching the fund.
The final close is expected to be completed in the next couple of months from investors already well advanced in the process, according to the lower mid-market firm.
Elysian Capital’s third fund has received commitments from existing as well as new investors from Europe and the US. The Elysian team continues to invest in their own funds, having contributed GBP67 million across its three funds to date.

Cloud services technology firm Babble has acquired business telecoms provider Lake Technologies. The transaction, which was funded by mid-market private equity investor LDC, marks the fourth deal completed by the rapidly growing business, after it was backed by the private equity firm in 2017.Lake Technologies has provided business telephony and network services to its customers for over 26 years, who will now be able to take advantage of Babble’s ability to offer the most agile and efficient cloud-based solutions to organisations, allowing them to adapt to the changing world of work.

British Patient Capital, a subsidiary of the British Business Bank, has made a cornerstone commitment to Kennet’s fifth fund as it announces its EUR223 million (USD250 million) close.
Meyer Bergman, a private equity real estate investment manager, has acquired a majority interest in a large residential portfolio with assets in Frankfurt and Greater Frankfurt.The majority of the newly acquired portfolio, which consists of 800 residential and 125 commercial units spread over 60 properties, is concentrated in the centre of Frankfurt, where Meyer Bergman is looking to unlock the value of the portfolio through active asset management. This is part of the firm’s strategy of extracting and creating value in micro-markets by identifying cities, regions and sectors that have strong market fundamentals.
