TFG Asset management, a diversified alternative asset manager that owns majority and minority private equity stakes in asset management companies, is broadening its structured credit investing business under Tetragon Credit Partners.
The business has evolved from a historic focus on primary CLO control equity to a broader series of offerings across the CLO capital structure. TFG Asset Management is part of Tetragon Financial Group Limited, a closed-ended investment company that is traded on Euronext in Amsterdam N.V. and on the Specialist Fund Segment of the main market of the London Stock Exchange.

SS&C Technologies Holdings, is to acquire certain Algorithmics and related assets from IBM. Algorithmics provides leading risk analytic products and services for the financial services industry worldwide.
The addition of Algorithmics, which is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter, pending the completion of customary closing conditions, will extend SS&C’s risk analytics and regulatory offering.

Almost a third of investors responding to Preqin’s report into alternatives in the first half of 2019 said private equity had exceeded expectations over the past 12 months. An additional 61 per cent said they were satisfied with the outcome of their holdings. Compare that with 46 per cent of hedge fund investors whose expectations have not been met, followed by 37 per cent of investors in natural resources claiming the same.

Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva PLC, has entered into a development agreement with Transport for London (TfL) to build a mixed-use retail and office building opposite Liverpool Street Elizabeth Line Station.
Subject to planning approval, the Eric Parry designed scheme will provide 175,000 sq ft of office and retail space over ground and ten upper floors. The deal builds on Aviva Investors’ ongoing development project with Crossrail at 101 Moorgate. Founded in 2004, La Maison Bleue manages a network of over 280 collective nurseries in France and 60 in Europe (Switzerland, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom). La Maison Bleue is supported by its investors TowerBrook and Bpifrance who have had majority shares since 2016.

Kaia Health, a digital therapeutics company, has secured USD8 million in a funding round led by Optum Ventures.
Kaia Health has developed a smartphone-based approach for managing a number of chronic conditions, with a focus on musculoskeletal disorders (MSK) such as chronic back pain. Optum Ventures’ investment will aid Kaia Health in addressing issues their users face including the rising costs of treating MSK-related conditions and the difficulty that patients have accessing necessary treatment.

Light Wave Dental Management (Light Wave), a portfolio company of middle market private equity firm Alpine Investors (Alpine), has partnered with dental group CarolinasDentist.
CarolinasDentist currently has seven locations based in Fayetteville, NC. Following this partnership, Light Wave has grown from eight to 30 affiliate locations in Virginia and North Carolina over the past two years.
The terms of the private transaction between Light Wave and CarolinasDentist have not been disclosed.

PICO Venture Partners, a Jerusalem-based, early-stage venture capital firm, has closed its second fund with USD80 million in capital commitments. PICO now manages USD130 million across two funds.

PICO has invested
Squircle Capital, a European alternative investment firm focused on private equity and real estate value-add investments, has acquired 77.5 per cent of Marina Barcelona 92 (MB92).
The deal includes the 65 per cent stake from the Turkish conglomerate Dogus and a 12.5 per cent stake from minority shareholders.
The transaction, which has been approved by the Barcelona Port Authority, is expected to close, subject to customary closing conditions, within the coming weeks.
