Veritas Capital (Veritas), a technology and government investment firm, has held the final close of its latest flagship fund, Veritas Capital Fund VIII (Fund VIII) with $10.65 billion of aggregate committed capital.  Fund VIII was significantly oversubscribed, with demand exceeding its hard cap and initial target of $8.5 billion. Veritas Capital Fund VII closed on $6.5 billion in commitments in 2019. Sunstone Partners, a growth-oriented private equity firm, has held the final institutional close of its oversubscribed $925 million third fund, Sunstone Partners III (Fund III), at its hard cap.  Fund III, which more than doubles the total committed capital managed by Sunstone Partners, is the firm’s largest fund to date and brings total committed LP capital to $1.7 billion since inception in 2015. Golding Capital Partners is expanding its product range with the launch of Golding Energy Transition 2022, a €300 million fund which will focus on investments aimed at helping achieve the goals defined by climate agreements.  The global investment strategy of the new fund is to build a broadly diversified portfolio by the end of 2024, which will consist of around 10 funds and up to 20 per cent co-investments. Hy24, a joint-venture between FiveT Hydrogen, the clean hydrogen-enabling investment partner, and private investment house Ardianm has closed its first impact fund – the Clean H2 Infra Fund – with €2 billion of allocations, exceeding its initial target. Hy24 says the fund is the world’s first and largest infrastructure fund to invest exclusively in the entire clean hydrogen value chain. The fund’s founding anchor investors are Air Liquide, VINCI Concessions, TotalEnergies, Plug Power, Chart Industries and Baker Hughes. Brian Sheth, the former president of Vista Equity Partners, is targeting a $3 billion fundraise for a new software-focused private equity fund, the second from his new firm Haveli Investments, according to a report by Bloomberg. The report cites unnamed sources as revealing that formal fundraising for the new vehicle, a follow-up to the Texas-based firm’s Haveli VC Gaming Fund I, hasn’t stated yet, but early-stage discussions with prospective investors are underway. Tiger Global is targeting $6 billion for new fund that will look to invest in invest in startups, “largely in enterprise themes and in India”, according to a report by The Financial Times. The report cites a letter sent to limited partners as revealing that fundraising for the new fund – Private Investment Partners Fund 16 – the $6 billion target size is less than half the size of Tiger Global’s prior investment vehicle, which closes in February with $12.3 billion in commitments, and reflects expected lower company market valuations following the tech sector rout earlier this year. Stafford Capital Partners (Stafford), an international private markets investment and advisory group, has launched Stafford Private Credit Income Opportunities Fund (CIO), a new open-ended direct lending and speciality finance fund.
Securitize, a digital asset securities firm, and Hamilton Lane, a global private markets investment firm, are partnering to expand investor access to Hamilton Lane’s funds through tokenisation. Through this partnership, qualified US-based investors will be able to more easily access three distinct Hamilton Lane funds, which will be available through new tokenised feeder funds.  The component funds provide exposure to direct equities, private credit and secondary transactions, and will be tokenised by Securitize’s digital transfer agency, managed by Securitize’s digital asset management arm, Securitize Capital, and be available for investment on its broker-dealer, Securitize Markets in Q4 2022. Antin Infrastructure Partners has held a first close for its fifth flagship fund, its largest to date, raising more than €5 billion to invest in infrastructure opportunities. Antin expects to hold a second closing before year-end.
