KPMG appoints Honson To as Asia-Pacific regional head of private equity

KPMG has appointed Shanghai-based Honson To, a partner at KPMG China since 2003, as regional head of private equity for the Asia-Pacific region.

KPMG has appointed Shanghai-based Honson To, a partner at KPMG China since 2003, as regional head of private equity for the Asia-Pacific region.

To has 13 years of experience providing M&A advisory services to both strategic and financial investors and has been head of KPMG China’s private equity practice for the past two years, a role he will be continuing alongside this new wider regional one.

To says: ‘This is an opportune moment to be taking on this regional leadership role. Capital raising is clearly a challenge and not all funds will have the necessary liquidity to take advantage of opportunities. Private equity funds, however, are increasingly focusing on the Asia Pacific region and in the current climate there are many well-priced opportunities for investors to take advantage of.’

In conjunction with his appointment, KPMG Australia has appointed Andrew Thompson as the new national head of private equity, replacing the outgoing head, David Nott.
