eQ Asset Management has raised a company-record EUR175 million for its latest Northern European private equity fund eQ PE X North at final closing on 6 September 2018. A final closing was also held on the same date for eQ’s second secondary fund eQ PE SF II with EUR135 million of committed capital. Both funds first closings were held in January 2018.
eQ PE X North is a fund of funds investing in private equity funds targeting Northern European small and mid-sized unlisted companies. The fund will consist of approximately ten underlying funds through which investments will be widely diversified
African investment bank Imara Corporate Finance and London-based financial advisory firm Spayne Lindsay have formed a strategic alliance.
The combination of Imara’s local African expertise with Spayne Lindsay’s global Consumer network will increase deal-flow for international clients, as well as provide on-the-ground support on sell-side and buy-side Africa-related transactions in the consumer sector.
Spayne Lindsay has a thirty-year relationship with key owners and managers of Imara including the Fleming Family and Tom Gaffney, Director of Imara Holdings Limited.

Tera Ventures has held the first close of Terra Ventures Fund II with EUR21m in capital commitments. The fund aims to invest in 25-30 seed-stage technology startups located in key tech hubs in Estonia, Finland, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden and the Czech Republic.
The target fund size is EUR55 million with a substantial amount already committed to the second close which is expected in the coming months.
Tera Ventures has offices in Estonia, Finland, and California and will continue investing in born global startups ready to thrive in international markets. Initial check sizes will be between EUR200,000 -EUR1.5
WCP has acquired a majority stake in Realease Capital, alongside the founding CEO and deputy CEO – Régis Dodin and Cyril Marlaud respectively – as well as other key executives who are reinvesting significantly in the deal.
The transaction is to be completed by the end of September.
Realease Capital was created from the merger in 2012 between DDL (founded in 1986 by Dodin) and Comiris Capital (led by Cyril Marlaud). Vanbridge focuses on alternative asset management, corporate and individual high net worth clients; solving risk related issues utilising insurance and alternative capital.

Rock Rail and Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) have finalised an agreement to fund, purchase and then lease new fleets of trains across Europe.
Rock Rail and ASI together have already successfully financed and procured modern train fleets for three UK rail networks – a total investment of GBP2 billion. The new joint venture (JV) will draw on that expertise to focus on private financing solutions tailored for rail networks in Continental Europe and Scandinavia.

Gide has advised Legrand on its purchase of Shenzhen Clever Electronic Co, a Chinese specialist in intelligent PDUs4 for data centres.
Shenzhen Clever Electronic Co rounds out Legrand’s product offerings in a high added-value segment, where it is already number one in the United States with its Raritan and Server Technology brands.
Gide advised Legrand on all aspects of the project, including legal due diligence, structuring, and negotiation and drafting of the transaction documents.

Ecura Helse og Omsorg (Ecura), a portfolio company of Longship Fund I, has made two new add-on acquisitions – Asor Helse and Accurate Care.
Asor Helse is a provider of home care and health services in the Norwegian market, with a focus on elderly care, personal assistance to disabled, and home health care. Accurate Care provides temporary staff for hire and qualified health personnel for permanent employment to the Norwegian health and care market. Asor Helse and Accurate Care had revenues of NOK118 million and NOK65 million, respectively in 2017.

Blue Ox Healthcare Partners (Blue Ox), an investment firm focused on providing growth capital to healthcare companies in the middle market, has led a USD52 million Series E investment in Epic Sciences (Epic), a diagnostics company developing solutions to personalise and advance cancer treatment and management.
Proceeds from the fundraising round are expected to be used to accelerate Epic’s clinical studies for oncology decision support services in its pipeline and execution of its long-term growth plan.

White Oak Global Advisors has held the close of the White Oak Yield Spectrum Fund to outside investors, with approximately USD2.1 billion of total commitments, exceeding the USD1.75 billion fundraising target.
White Oak’s previous flagship fund, the White Oak Summit Fund, closed with approximately USD1.3 billion of commitments in March 2016.
The capital for the White Oak Yield Spectrum Fund was raised from a diversified group of institutional investors worldwide. In particular, the Fund attracted very strong support from public and private pension funds, insurance companies and global family offices.
