Pomona Capital, a global private equity firm specialising in secondaries investing, has held the final close of its ninth secondaries flagship fund, Pomona Capital IX. The fund was oversubscribed and capped at USD1.8 billion.
Limited partners in the Fund include pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, and family offices from nearly 20 countries. Strong support from existing investors was complemented by a significant number of new investors from across the globe.

Clyde Blowers Capital (CBC) has completed the sale of precision motion control expert, Cone Drive, to The Timken Company.
Since acquiring Cone Drive in 2012, CBC has repositioned Cone Drive from an industrial gearing company, operating largely out of North America, to a leader in precision motion control technology with operations on three continents. The successful acquisition of H-Fang, based in Jiangyin, China, in 2014 represented a key milestone in achieving this geographic expansion of the business.

Chicago-based private equity firm CORE Industrial Partners (CORE), has acquired Midwest Composite Technologies (MCT), a manufacturer of prototype and low-volume production components.
Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Founded in 1984, MCT offers 3D prototyping and low-volume production services through a fleet of over 40 additive manufacturing machines, including in-house selection laser sintering (SLS), direct metal laser sintering (“DMLS”), polyjet printing (PJET), stereolithography (SLA), fused deposition modelling (FDM) and multi jet fusion (MFJ) technologies.

Ropes & Gray has advised UK private equity firm Epiris on Epiris Fund II’s acquisition of Bonhams, the global auction house, from private shareholders.
The deal, announced today, is the fourth investment of the Epiris Fund II. Bonhams is one of the world’s largest and most renowned auctioneers of fine art and antiques, motor cars and jewellery. The business holds more than 250 sales a year at its flagship salerooms, which include London, New York, Los Angeles and Hong Kong. In 2017, Bonhams sold more than 60,000 lots, generating over GBP450 million of hammer sales.

Webster Capital (Webster) has held the final closing of its latest fund, Webster Capital IV at its hard cap of USD875 million, exceeding its initial target of USD650 million.
The fund will allow Webster to continue to pursue its successful strategy of investing in branded consumer and healthcare service companies across the North American lower middle market.
The fundraising was oversubscribed and received commitments from both new and returning limited partners, including leading institutions from Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. Webster’s previous fund, Webster Capital III, closed in 2015 on USD416 million.

Investcorp, a provider and manager of alternative investment products, has made a strategic minority investment in Banque Pâris Bertrand Sturdza, an independent, Swiss-regulated private bank based in Geneva and Luxembourg.
The Bank has experienced strong growth since its establishment in Geneva in May 2009, growing its assets under management (AUM) at an average yearly growth rate of 35 per cent to CHF 5.3 billion (USD5.4 billion) as of June 2018. The Bank provides independent investment advice and customised investment solutions to over 400 high-net-worth individuals, family offices and institutional clients mainly from Switzerland and Europe.

Mesirow Financial has acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Adams Manufacturing Corp on its sale to Keter Group (Keter), a portfolio company of BC Partners.
Adams is a manufacturer of injection moulded consumer products. The company’s product portfolio includes resin garden furniture and accessories, suction cups and Christmas decorating hardware and accessories for residential and commercial markets.

Auxo Investment Partners, a Michigan-based private equity firm, has held the final closing of its first investment fund, Auxo Growth Holdings I with USD50 million in committed capital from family offices and institutional investors.
Auxo was founded in late 2016 by three veteran investors and operators: Jeff Helminski, Jack Kolodny and Fred Tedori. Combined with direct co-investment from family offices and modest leverage, the inaugural fund will deploy approximately USD150 million of equity in 10 to 15 companies over the next three years – and has already invested over USD30 million of equity in four acquisitions, including a die-manufacturing platform
The total value of funds business in Guernsey is at a five-year high following a predicted rise in net asset value in Q2 2018, according to the latest figures from the Guernsey Financial Services Commission.
The figures for the end of June 2018 showed the net asset value stood at GBP276.2 billion, the highest since the end of June 2013, and a growth of more than GBP13 billion (4.94 per cent) on Q1 2018 and a 12-month growth of more than GBP5 billion (1.9 per cent).

Renewable energy infrastructure investors Aurium Capital Markets (Aurium), Equitix and Helios Energy Investments (Helios) have formed a new dedicated business to invest in renewable energy plants which use anaerobic digestion (AD) technology.
The newly formed Bio Capital is developing a portfolio of AD plants in the UK and Ireland, targeting operational and greenfield assets, and comprising both gas-to-grid and electricity generation facilities that utilise food-waste and agri-feedstock fuel sources.
The business has already completed its first transaction, acquiring the largest operational AD plant in Scotland from Energen Biogas, a joint venture of Renewi plc (LSE: RWI) and Paragon Efficiencies.
