Michael Jackson, former chairman of Sage and PartyGaming, has joined forces with James Cox, founder of sleep tech company Simba, former marketing director of Zoopla from start-up to its GBP1.6 billion IPO, Charlotte Harper, hedge fund and family office specialist Julian Barnett, and The Garage Soho led by advertising guru Sir John Hegarty to form the new boutique.

UK software firm Ideagen has acquired Morgan Kai Group Ltd, an Audit Management software provider to both public and private sector organisations.
With operations in Leeds, Yorkshire, and Chicago, Illinois, Morgan Kai Group Ltd currently generates GBP5.3 million in revenue with GBP3.2 million recurring. The organisation adds more than 370 clients including the UK National Audit, the Federal Reserve, Investec, the New York Stock Exchange, Shell, Bombardier and Blue Shield to Ideagen’s existing customer base.

NorthEdge Capital has invested for a significant majority stake in facilities management company Orbis Protect, backing an MBO with the existing management team led by CEO Guy Other and COO Ben Howard.
Employing over 400 staff across its network of 19 depots, Orbis Protect provides a range of vacant property management and lone worker protection services to public and private sector clients throughout the UK.

RootPath, a biotechnology company developing a powerful personalised T cell therapy platform that bridges precision medicine and cancer immunotherapy, has closed a USD7 million seed funding round led by Sequoia China with participation from Volcanics Venture, BV (Baidu Ventures) and Nest.Bio Ventures.
The company, which was launched in 2017 by life sciences venture capital and incubation firm Nest.Bio, will use its proceeds to advance its immuno-oncology programs and obtain key data on accuracy, efficacy and safety in animal models.

Law firm Paul Hastings is advising Golfzon Newdin and its affiliates (Golfzon) on the acquisition of 100 per cent of the equity interest in Leadbetter Golf Academies, a US-based golf instruction institute founded by legendary golf coach David Leadbetter.
Launched in 1983, Leadbetter Golf Academies consists of a network of approximately 37 academies across the globe, each with a team of elite instructors trained by David Leadbetter.

Pagaya, a financial technology company focused on the asset management and institutional investment markets, has closed a USD14 million Series B funding round co-led by venture capital fund Oak HC/FT and Harvey Golub, former Chairman and CEO of American Express.

ORIX Corporation USA (ORIX USA) has completed its acquisition of NXT Capital, which is now a new subsidiary of ORIX USA.

Nebula Genomics has raised USD4.3 million in seed financing with participation from 10 leading venture capital firms.
The funds will support the company’s mission to usher in the era of personal genome sequencing by creating a trusted, secure, and decentralized marketplace for genomic data. The company also has forged a partnership with Veritas Genetics, the leading whole genome sequencing and interpretation company, that will connect the Nebula marketplace to Veritas’ Arvados open-source software platform.

Cloudian has raised USD94 million in a Series E funding, bringing the company’s total funding to USD173 million.
The round includes participation from investors Digital Alpha, Eight Roads Ventures, Goldman Sachs, INCJ, JPIC (Japan Post Investment Corporation), NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Inc and WS (Wilson Sonsini) Investments. Cloudian will use this investment, which is the largest single round to date for a distributed file systems and object storage provider, to expand its worldwide sales and marketing efforts and increase its engineering team to meet rising demand for its limitlessly-scalable enterprise storage solutions.

OnRobot A/S, a Denmark-based provider of end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) used in collaborative robot systems, has announced an investment led by global growth equity firm Summit Partners, with participation from existing investors including Vaekstfonden (The Danish Growth Fund).
