LightBay Capital (LightBay), a Los Angeles-based private equity firm focused on middle-market opportunities, has successfully completed fundraising for its inaugural institutional fund, LightBay Investment Partners, with total committed capital of USD615 million.
The oversubscribed Fund, which LightBay officially began marketing in April 2017, exceeded its target of USD450 million with commitments from a diverse investor group, which includes leading family offices, foundations, fund of funds, insurers, pension plans, and LightBay professionals.
LightBay is led by cofounders Nav Rahemtulla and Adam Stein, who were original members of Ares Management’s private equity group (Ares) where they invested together for over 15 years.
Capidea Management has held the first closing of its third private equity fund, Capidea Kapital III K/S with commitments of DKK750 million from a group of new and existing Danish and international investors. The Fund has a target of DKK1 billion.
Capidea was established in November 2006 with the objective of making buyout investments in competitive small and medium sized companies in Denmark. Today the firm is led by four partners, Erik Balleby Jensen, Jens Thøger Hansen, Nicolai Jungersen and Martin Jørgensen.

The total value of funds business in Guernsey grew by approximately GBP20 billion over the 12 months to the end of the third quarter of this year.
Figures from the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC) show that, at the end of September 2017, the net asset value of all funds under management and administration in Guernsey stood at GBP269 billion – an 8 per cent increase on September 2016. The figures also confirm two consecutive years of growth, with the net asset value of funds growing by nearly GBP25 billion between Q3 2015 and Q3 2016.

Shore Capital Partners (Shore Capital) has sold The Stepping Stones Group (SSG) to Five Arrows Capital Partners (Five Arrows), with Shore Capital retaining a minority stake.
The Stepping Stones Group is a provider of therapy and education solutions to children with special needs and autism in educational settings. Led by CEO Anthony Rintala, SSG has approximately 900 clinicians providing services to over 300 school districts and 42,000 children across more than 20 states in the US.

The last couple of years have been a period of recovery for the EU. Since Q2 2016, GDP growth has been on an upward trajectory, having risen by 2.3 per cent year-on-year, according to Eurostat. That is even stronger than the US, which, by comparison, grew by 2.2 per cent.

WillScot Corporation (Williams Scotsman) has acquired Onsite Space (Tyson Onsite) expanding its Ready to Work services to customers in the Midwest, most notably in Indiana, Illinois and Missouri.
The acquisition increases Williams Scotsman’s offering by approximately 1,750 units.

Based in Des Moines, Iowa, SLD is a wholesale distributor of residential door hardware and security products. In addition to its Des Moines headquarters, the company operates distribution centres in Phoenix, Arizona and Charlotte, North Carolina. SLD provides expert customer service and tailored solutions for the residential builder market.
