Octopus Group (Octopus) has increased its total institutional assets under management (AUM) by over GBP500 million in 2017, the business announced today. Octopus’ institutional AUM is GBP1.7 billion and its total overall AUM is over GBP7 billion. The proposed transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals. Albéa provides a wide range of solutions for the make-up, fragrance, skincare, personal and oral care markets. SoftBank Group has completed its previously announced acquisition of Fortress Investment Group (Fortress) for USD3.3 billion in cash. Following the close of the transaction, SBG and its wholly-owned subsidiaries own all outstanding Fortress shares.  The completion follows the satisfaction of all conditions to the closing of the transaction, including approval of the transaction by Fortress shareholders on 12 July, 2017 and receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals. KKR is to acquire PetVet Care Centers from Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, L Catterton, and other existing shareholders. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. An affiliate of Sun Capital Partners is to sell Aclara Technologies (Aclara), a provider of smart infrastructure solutions for utilities, to Hubbell Power Systems in a deal worth USF1.1 billion. Headquartered in St Louis, Aclara is a worldwide supplier of smart meters and other field devices, advanced metering infrastructure and software and services to more than 800 water, gas, and electric utilities. Crédit Agricole has finalised its acquisition of Natixis’ 15 per cent stake in CACEIS. As a result, it now controls 100 per cent of the share capital of the business. With approximately EUR2.6 trillion in assets under custody, EUR1.7 trillion euros in assets under administration and a presence in nine European countries, CACEIS is one of the industry’s leading players in Europe. Activist hedge fund Cevian Capital has agreed to sell its entire shareholding in AB Volvo (Volvo) to Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely Holding), subject to regulatory approval. The acquisition comprises 88.47 million A-shares and 78.77 million B-shares, corresponding to 8.2 per cent of the capital and 15.6 per cent of the votes, which represents the largest ownership in AB Volvo by capital and the second largest by votes.
