Polaris has agreed to sell Avanti Wind Systems to Alimak Group, marking the private equity firm’s sixth exit in the past 18 months.
With Polaris as its owner since 2011, Avanti, a specialist in service lifts as well as ladder and safety systems for the wind turbine industry, has doubled revenue and expanded its global sales and production platform during the period.
The company today has more than 400 employees, six production units and service units in 9 countries. Avanti is headquartered in Hillerød, Denmark.

Private equity firm Cinven has agreed to sell Host Europe Group (HEG), one of the largest privately-owned web services providers in Europe, to GoDaddy, a cloud platform dedicated to small, independent ventures.
Cinven acquired the core business within HEG in August 2013 for an original consideration of GBP438 million.
The transaction marked the first platform acquisition of an overall consolidation strategy, originated by Cinven’s TMT team who had identified web services as an attractive and fragmented market.

Clessidra SGR has signed a definitive agreement to sell all outstanding shares of ABM Italia to funds advised by BC Partners through their participation in Keter Group.
ABM Italia is one of Europe's leading manufacturer of high-end resin storage systems for domestic/office applications such as cabinets, shelves and storage boxes.

Solace Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on distressed-for-control and special situations investments in North America, has closed its inaugural Solace Capital Special Situations Fund at USD576 million, in excess of its USD500 million target.
Solace has flexible capital and targets control-oriented investments in complex, distressed or capital-constrained, lower-middle market companies across numerous industries.
Typical investment size ranges from USD10 million to USD75 million.
To date, the fund has invested and committed more than USD120 million in five portfolio companies.

Healthcare-focused private equity firms DW Healthcare Partners (DWHP) and Linden Capital Partners are to acquire Edge Systems.
Headquartered in Signal Hill, California, Edge is a manufacturer and marketer of non-invasive equipment and consumables used in aesthetic skin health treatments.
Edge's leading product is the HydraFacial line of facial skin rejuvenation devices, which provide a non-invasive, multistep treatment in one sitting that delivers results without downtime or irritation. Edge has a current installed base of over 7,000 systems placed with dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and medical spas across 75 countries.

A cross-border team from law firm Goodwin represented the neuroscience company Cerevance in its financing by Lightstone Ventures and Takeda Pharmaceutical.
Cerevance will focus on discovering and developing novel therapeutics for neurological and psychiatric disorders.
The USD36 million funding round includes a USD21.5 million Series A financing investment from Takeda and Lightstone Ventures, with each joining Cerevance’s board of directors.

Two thirds of limited partners (LPs) say there would be a negative impact on the EU from a ‘hard’ Brexit – a separation of the UK from the EU involving significant restrictions on the UK’s access to the EU single market and strong immigration curbs.
That’s according to Coller Capital’s latest Global Private Equity Barometer which reveals that fully three quarters of LPs think a hard Brexit would damage the UK, while well over a third (37 per cent) of LPs think a hard Brexit would also lower their overall returns from European private equity.

UK private equity house Maven Capital Partners has realised its investment in plastic extrusion manufacturer Nenplas, generating a return of more than 5x for investors.
The exit from Ashbourne-based Nenplas follows a sale of a controlling interest to German company Döllken-Weimar, part of the German quoted group Surteco, in a transaction that also included the sale of the entire share capital of Nenplas Property.
