Inflexion’s portfolio company Kynetec, a specialist in agricultural and animal health market research, has acquired the agriculture and animal health business of Ipsos North America.
Ipsos agriculture and animal health in North America comprises two locations: St. Louis in the US and Guelph in Canada.
The acquisition brings additional market research expertise to Kynetec’s team, adding 25 experienced professionals to its team of 250 market researchers.
By combining the staff and methodologies from Ipsos agriculture and animal health with Kynetec’s custom team, along with a considerable investment in innovation, Kynetec expects substantial strengthening of its North American business.
IMAX Corporation and IMAX China Holding have completed the first phase of a USD50 million virtual reality fund to help finance the creation of at least 25 interactive VR content experiences over the next three years.
IMAX and its partners, which include leaders from the media, entertainment and technology sectors, will use the funds to aid in the creation of higher-quality VR content that can be leveraged across the burgeoning VR industry.

Assetz Capital says investors have earned a total of GBP15 million in gross interest since the company launched in 2013.
Assetz Capital has been at the forefront of the P2P sector by providing British small and medium sized businesses with their funding requirements.
Individuals can invest in these businesses either through tailored investment accounts, or by manually choosing where their capital is invested.
To date almost GBP180 million has invested through the platform, typically earning investors gross rates of return between 3.75 per cent and 15 per cent per annum.

REG Power Management has signed an asset management contract with BlackRock for the recently constructed 18MW Batsworthy Cross Wind Farm in Devon, England.
Batsworthy Cross joins the 26MW Glens of Foudland wind farm acquired by BlackRock from Centrica earlier this year.
Last month BlackRock also appointed REG as the asset manager for four solar projects totalling circa 63MWp, adding to five existing ground-mounted solar PV assets under management by REG for BlackRock funds.
REG Asset Management now has around 20 wind and 14 solar projects under management across the UK, taking the total managed capacity to nearly 260MW.
Aurelius Equity Opportunities has reported a 63 per cent increase in consolidated revenues to EUR1,926.9 million in the first nine months of 2016.
Consolidated revenues increased by 51 per cent year on year to EUR2,749.3 million, with growth significantly boosted by company acquisitions during the past 12 months.

After 15 years in business, Financière Cambon is changing its name and visual identity to Cambon Partners.
The change is designed to reflect the firm’s growing international standing and mark the beginning of a new phase in its development.
Cambon Partners, the only French M&A boutique with a physical presence in the Silicon Valley, has also hired Laurent Azout, previously partner at Messier Maris & Associés, in charge of the TMT sector, and executive director at Lazard.

Harris Williams & Co is advising Grohmann Engineering on its pending sale to Tesla Motors.
Grohmann is a developer and manufacturer of highly customised, high yield, multi-process modular assembly solutions for future oriented end-markets.
Harris Williams & Co served as the exclusive financial adviser to Klaus Grohmann, founder and majority stakeholder of Grohmann Engineering, and Deutsche Beteiligungs, a German listed private equity company and minority stakeholder of Grohmann Engineering.
Post transaction, Grohmann Engineering will become Tesla Grohmann Automation and serve as the initial base for Tesla Advanced Automation Germany headquarters, with other locations to follow.
The pending
MMA Capital Management has entered into an agreement with an affiliate of TSSP, a special situations investment platform, to form a solar lending joint venture.
The joint venture will operate under the name Renewable Energy Lending (REL) and will provide financing for the construction and ongoing operations of solar power projects located throughout North America.
MMA Energy Capital (MEC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of MMA Capital, will provide loan origination and administrative services to REL. Kimberlite Advisors served as financial adviser in the formation of Renewable Energy Lending.

In the third quarter of 2016, Israeli private equity deal-making rose to USD1.7 billion in 18 deals, the highest quarterly amount in the past two years.
The amount was 32 per cent above the USD1.3 billion reached in the previous quarter and over four times the USD358 million achieved in the third quarter of 2015.
The number of deals was the same as in the last quarter, but slightly down from the 22 deals quarterly average of the past five years.

Equistone Partners Europe-backed Apogee Corporation has bolted on Hibernian Business Equipment, an Irish print management and managed print services provider.
The deal marks the second acquisition since Equistone provided a significant investment in September 2016.
