Investment firm Fundamental Asset Management, specialists in the AIM market, reports that despite a quiet month for new issues, the market has seen strong performance in share prices for many companies.  Fundamental’s Chris Boxall says that new issue activity on AIM virtually ground to a halt in September with only one genuine new arrival Aura Energy, an Australian based uranium company. With eight cancellations there were only 1,000 companies listed at the end of the month. BioVentures Investors has held the closing of its fourth fund at USD87 million. The Wellesley, Massachusetts, venture fund will invest in high-value-added medical technology enterprises (MedTech) such as medical devices and diagnostics.   The fund’s focus is on technology with the potential to provide important benefits to patients, physicians and healthcare institutions, as well as significant returns to investors.   The fund’s management includes BioVentures Investors founders Marc Goldberg and Peter Feinstein; Jeff Barnes, managing director and partner; and Walter Gilbert as senior partner. KKR and TowerBrook are acquiring a minority stake in cloud provider OVH for EUR250 million of growth capital. The funds will allow OVH to take advantage of the expanding market for cloud and internet infrastructure services, while also broadening its customer base and services in new geographies.   The Klaba family will retain the majority stake in the company and will continue, together with OVH management, to lead the company, its strategy and operations.   The infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) markets are expected to continue to grow rapidly, driven in large part by the exploding demand for cloud services.
Monroe Capital acted as sole lead arranger and administrative agent on the funding of a senior credit facility to support the acquisition of ProPharma Group by private equity sponsor Linden Capital Partners. International aircraft leasing business Avolon, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bohai Capital, is to acquire the aircraft leasing operations of CIT Group, creating a business with an owned, managed and committed fleet of 910 aircraft valued at over USD43 billion. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and required regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2017.   Avolon chief executive Dómhnal Slattery says: “From a standing start we will have built Avolon into a leading global player in six years. New State Capital Partners has closed its first institutional investment fund, New State Capital Partners Fund, and associated parallel commitments, with USD131 million in committed capital. Investors include pension funds, foundations, family offices and funds.   New State, which has in excess of USD370 million of assets under management, seeks to invest between USD10 million to USD45 million of equity per deal with an average of USD30 million. Mademoiselle Desserts, a French producer of frozen pastries backed by Equistone Partners Europe, has acquired Quality Pastries, a Dutch producer of chilled and frozen pastries for retailers, restaurants and home service companies. Mademoiselle Desserts (formerly Européenne des Desserts) employs circa 1,000 people across its six production facilities in France and the UK and covers 75 per cent of the French industrial pastries market.   The group recorded revenues of more than EUR175 million in 2015, with its main customers including major French and UK retailers such as Carrefour, Leclerc, Marks & Spencer, Picard, Brioche Dorée, Pomona and Brake.   By
