Evercore is to transfer the control of its Mexican private equity business Evercore Mexico Capital Partners (EMCP) to a new entity formed by the existing principals of the business.  Under the plan, the EMCP team, led by Alfredo Castellanos, has formed a new entity, Glisco Partners, which will assume all responsibility for management of the existing EMCP funds, which currently manage USD266 million of invested capital.   Dr Pedro Aspe, the chairman of Evercore Partners Mexico, will continue to serve on the investment committee for the EMCP funds.   As consideration for the transfer of ownership, Evercore will receive a
Bloomberg has held the close of a second USD75 million fund with venture capital firm Bloomberg Beta. The new fund, which will focus on the future of work, will build on Bloomberg Beta's specialty in machine intelligence.   Bloomberg has made significant investments in technology, systems and applications, employing 4,000 technologists and engineers who build and support a platform that moves markets around the world.   Bloomberg Beta expands on those investments by investing in companies that make business work better.   The announcement comes three years after the formation of Bloomberg Beta's first fund. Operations technology startup Predictive has acquired 2338 Technologies, an early-stage, privately-backed startup developing machine learning technologies. The purchase price has not been disclosed.   2338’s technology will now power PredictiveOps, a SaaS application that is aiming to transform language in hedge fund documents and regulatory filings into useable data for operations planning and automation.   As part of the transaction, 2338’s founder and CEO Carl P Evans III has agreed to join Predictive as co-founder, chief product officer, and corporate counsel. Evans brings over 15 years of software, hardware, robotics, machine learning development, and technology management experience to Predictive.  
Three Hills Capital Partners (THCP) is to sell its stake and its debt position in Dedalus Holding, owner of Dedalus Spa. Dedalus is a provider of healthcare software systems in Italy and has recently announced the acquisition of Noemalife to create the largest software operator in the Italian healthcare sector, and one of the largest players in Europe.   Following the signing of the agreement, Ardian will acquire 60 per cent of Dedalus Holding, including 10.41 per cent from Dedalus’ founder Giorgio Moretti, 14 per cent from HC Leo (30 per cent owned by THCP and 70 per cent by
OpenGate Capital has reached the final closing for its first institutional private equity vehicle, exceeding its target of USD300 million. OpenGate Capital Partners I and affiliated partnerships, closed on USD305 million in total commitments.   The firm has already completed four investments in the first half of 2016. An affiliate of middle market private equity firm Charlesbank Capital Partner is to acquire Polyconcept from Investcorp. Equity for the transaction will be provided by Charlesbank and management, Partners Group and certain other investors.    Additional terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.   Polyconcept is a value-added supplier in the USD30 billion promotional products industry. Sourcing products from hundreds of manufacturers, the company then customises them on behalf of its 35,000 reseller customers and ships the products to end-consumers (typically businesses) located in the US, Europe and across the world.   Polyconcept offers one of the industry’s broadest assortments,

Japan’s SoftBank Group has reached agreement with UK-based ARM Holdings on the terms of a recommended all cash acquisition of the entire issued and to be issued share capital of the Cambridge-based microchip designer. ARM products are used in most smartphones, including those from industry giants Apple and Samsung.   Under the terms of the acquisition, each ARM shareholder will be entitled to receive for each ARM share 1,700 pence in cash, which represents a premium of approximately 43.0 per cent to the closing price of 1,189 pence per ARM share, and approximately 42.9 per cent to the closing price
Noerr has advised the Danish private equity investment company Axcel on several pan-European acquisitions of high tech suppliers to the meat-processing industry and the formation of a global industry market leader. Axcel is investing in the companies SFK LEBLANC, Attec, ITEC and Carometec via the Axcel IV fund.   The companies acquired were bought from various seller groups in Germany and Denmark. They operate across Europe and are owner-managed, except for SKF LEBLANC. SKF LEBLANC has been owned to date by the investment companies Maj Invest and Nimbus.   Total turnover at all four companies is around EUR150 million.
