The Capital Partnership, a private investment office and independent asset manager, is to acquire Northgate Capital, the California-based venture capital and private equity investment firm, from Religare and members of the firm’s management team.  Religare, the India-based diversified financial services group, acquired a majority interest in Northgate in 2010. Completion of the transaction is subject to the satisfaction of certain conditions precedent, including certain regulatory approvals. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Geli, a supplier of software and networking solutions to the energy storage industry, has completed a USD7 million Series A funding round led by a clean energy investment office and Shell Technology Ventures.  Shell Technology Ventures (STV), the venture division of globally integrated energy company Royal Dutch Shell (RDS.A), brings Geli into a growing portfolio of breakthrough cleantech companies.   Geli’s end-to-end software platform speeds time to market for OEMs and hardware integrators, accelerates the sales cycle for project developers, and provides assurance of system performance to host customers and financiers. Carey Olsen has advised long-standing client, Blue Water Energy (BWE), on its acquisition of a controlling stake in Px Group, a company that specialises in the energy, engineering and process industries.  Px Group has been growing steadily for a number of years and the deal provides it with access to capital for continued investment. The company provides operations and maintenance, engineering and energy, trading and management services to owners of large-scale energy process and infrastructure assets in the European market. BWE is a private equity firm investing exclusively in the energy sector with a targeted focus on the middle market
Bridges Ventures (Bridges) has sold Babington Group (Babington), a UK-based provider of apprenticeships and training courses, to RJD Partners for GBP22 million. Bridges, a specialist sustainable and impact investor, originally invested in Babington Group in 2009 via the Bridges Sustainable Growth Fund II. Under its ownership, Babington’s revenues have increased from under GBP2m to more than GBP15m, thanks to strong organic growth and two strategic acquisitions. Today’s sale price represents an internal rate of return for Bridges of 33 per cent.   Bridges invested in Babington in line with its focus on backing companies that have a clear growth opportunity
ARX Equity Partners (ARX) has exited its 2007 investment in Slovenian producer of plastic components, Tomplast, generating an overall 4.1x cash-on-cash return multiple and an IRR exceeding 20 per cent.  The ARX exit was executed via a sale to funds managed by financial investor KJK Capital.  The Tomplast investment is consistent with the ARX focus on Central European succession- driven majority buy-outs, with a bias toward export-oriented precision manufacturing companies. Park Square Capital Partners has launched its third subordinated debt fund, securing EUR1.2 billion of investor commitments with advice from Carey Olsen's investment fund specialists. The fund, Park Square Capital Partners III, will continue the strategy of investing in the debt of high-quality levered companies backed by leading private equity sponsors across Europe and the US. The fund is able to use leverage taking its total investable capital to EUR1.5 billion. The predecessor fund, Park Square Capital Partners II, which is a 2010 vintage fund, closed at EUR850 million. Oresa and entrepreneur Cristian Amza have acquired La Fantana Group from Innova Capital. Completion of the transaction is subject to the customary approvals, and the price of the transaction has not been disclosed. La Fântâna is a provider of home and office water solutions in South-Eastern Europe (SEE) and the second largest provider of water solutions in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
