Nexthink, a provider of end-user IT analytics, has raised USD40 million in new investment round led by venture capital (VC) firm Highland Europe.
This is the largest round of funding to date for Nexthink and includes participation from the Bertarelli family’s Waypoint Capital and existing investors Auriga Partners and Galeo Ventures.
This latest round brings the total capital raised by Nexthink to USD65 million since the Company was founded from a research project in artificial intelligence at the prestigious EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) in Switzerland in 2004.

Healthcare private equity firm Council Capital has held the closing of its third private equity fund, Council Capital III, with commitments totalling over USD150 million, exceeding its target of USD125 million and hitting its hard cap, bringing total capital under management at the firm to approximately USD300 million.
For Fund III, Council Capital received strong support from returning investors from its USD65.8 million Fund II. An affiliate of private equity firm Warburg Pincus is to acquire a majority stake in Reiss Holdings, owner of the global men's and women's fashion and accessories brand REISS, valuing the business at GBP230 million.
REISS, founded by David Reiss in 1971, is an international fashion brand offering affordable luxury for both men and women. The company currently operates from over 160 locations in 15 countries and also has a highly developed e-commerce presence. In the year to January 2016, the company generated sales of GBP146 million and EBITDA of GBP24.4 million.
The partnership with Warburg Pincus will enable Reiss
A group of investors including GCP Capital Partners, Western Heritage Capital, and Performance Equity Management have acquired a significant stake in Complete Merchant Solutions (CMS), a leading provider of merchant acquisition services, credit card/debit card transaction processing services, and payment solutions.
Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Headquartered in Orem, Utah, CMS was founded in 2008 by President David Decker, Chief Operating Officer Trever Hansen and Chief Information Officer Kyle Hall, and the three founders will retain a substantial stake in the business. Centerbridge Partners has selected SEI to provide a customised operating platform for its private equity and credit businesses.
Through its Investment Manager Services division, SEI supplies customised operating infrastructure and services to investment organisations around the world.
SEI drew on its global operating platform to provide Centerbridge with a solution tailored to its fund administration, fund accounting, middle-office and investor servicing requirements for both its private equity and credit businesses. Centerbridge also intends to use additional SEI capabilities for collateral management, treasury services and regulatory reporting.

Private equity firm Webfolio Management has acquired ad-tech company PicReel.com for an undisclosed sum. PicReel is now part of a larger organisation that is operating several brands in the mar-tech and ad-tech vertical.
The majority of PicReel employees will continue to work from their European and Asian offices, joining Webfolio's core team working from its world headquarters in Reno, NV.

Spring Ventures, a private equity investor specialising in management buyouts of UK companies with strong growth potential, has backed a group of commercial lending professionals to buy invoice financing provider, IGF Invoice Finance Limited (IGF), from Greater London Enterprise( GLE).
Spring Ventures will initially invest GBP9 million to fund the acquisition (buy-in management buyout) and provide growth capital. It will commit a further GBP11 million of follow on capital over the next three years and will take a majority stake.

Portfolio Advisors has held the final closing of its globally diversified private equity fund-of-funds, Portfolio Advisors Private Equity Fund VIII (PAPEF VIII) with total commitments of USD1.22 billion.
Limited partners include private and public pension plans, university endowments, private foundations, insurance companies, family offices and high net worth individuals. Approximately 70 per cent of the total limited partner commitments to the Fund came from investors who had previously invested in one or more PA-sponsored funds.
