Venn Partners, an operator and manager of real estate debt and secured consumer lending businesses, has launched Venn Hypotheken, a new Dutch residential mortgage lender based in the Netherlands.
Venn Hypotheken plans to offer competitive pricing across the mortgage product spectrum, passing on to customers the benefits of its lower cost-base and its access to long-term and lower-margin funding channels that have been historically only been open to banks.
Venn Hypotheken plans to increase its mortgage lending to EUR2 billion annually by the end of 2018. Its products will be marketed through well-developed financial intermediary networks in the Netherlands,
Blockchain intelligence firm Elliptic has closed a USD5 million Series A funding round led by Paladin Capital Group, with participation from Santander InnoVentures, KRW Schindler, Digital Currency Group, and existing investor, Octopus Ventures.

With more than 30-years experience driving sales and new business development for financial institutions including Square 1 Bank, Merrill Lynch and Wachovia Bank, Fleming will help grow and manage Bridge Bank's equity fund partners and venture capital network. The Pieces software platform was incubated at the Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation (PCCI), a noted scientific research and development nonprofit corporation in Dallas.

Gecko Biomedical (Gecko) has closed a series A2 EUR22.5 million financing round led by Sofinnova Partners, which becomes the largest investor in Gecko, with support from Bpifranceand existing series A investors Omnes Capital, CM-CIC Innovation and CapDecisif Management, who invested in the company in December 2013.
