Rakuten has launched the Rakuten FinTech Fund, a USD100 million global investment fund focused on investments in disruptive early to mid-stage fintech startups that offer ‘attractive return potential with strategic relevance’.
The fund will target investments in startups and growth companies primarily in the US and Europe and build on the success of previous fintech investments made by Rakuten, including Currency Cloud, WePay and Bitnet.

The dedicated private equity fund, a French-domiciled 'Fonds Professionnel de Capital Investissement' structure, invests in small to mid-sized project finance transactions in the transport, social infrastructure, telecom, utilities and energy sectors across Europe, via both greenfield and brownfield assets.

Private equity and venture capital investor BaltCap is to acquire the invoicing and financial automation business of OpusCapita in the Baltics.
BaltCap Private Equity Fund II managed by BaltCap has signed an agreement to buy the business operations serving the local markets in the Baltic States from Finnish financial process provider OpusCapita. The transaction consists of OpusCapita AS in Estonia and Latvia and UAB OpusCapita in Lithuania which provide financial automation services to the local market.
