Solar Capital has chosen Ultimus Fund Solutions to provide fund accounting support for the firm’s Business Development Companies (BDCs) as well as middle and back office support for its growing Separately Managed Accounts (SMA) business.
Solar will utilise Ultimus’ experience and technology to add efficiencies to the firm’s fund accounting and reporting for complex investment classes, including middle market senior secured loans.
Under the terms of the agreement, Ultimus will provide fund accounting for Solar Capital’s funds, including certain processing services related to bank debt investing. Ultimus will also provide fund accounting and other middle office services to support

Carey Olsen's Guernsey corporate team has advised on the successful initial public offering (IPO) of Axiom European Financial Debt Fund Limited and its admission to trading on the Specialist Fund Market of the London Stock Exchange.
The fund raised approximately GBP50.7 million and included a placing programme to issue up to 500 million shares.
The new Guernsey fund will invest in a diversified portfolio of regulatory capital financial investments issued by European financial institutions.

A global study of 100 senior executives at life sciences companies by global law firm Reed Smith, in partnership with Mergermarket, reveals that 94 per cent are planning to make an acquisition in the next year.

Palamon Capital Partners has acquired a majority stake in The Rug Company from its founders Christopher and Suzanne Sharp, who will continue to hold a significant stake in the Company, and minority shareholder Piper.

Consumer electronics developer Netatmo has successfully raised EUR30 million in a funding round led by Legrand, a specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures.

Open source solutions provider Smile is in exclusive negotiations to acquire Open Wide, a move that will broaden the Smile’s offering while strengthening its position in the open source sector.
European growth private equity investor Keensight Capital, the majority shareholder in Smile alongside Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners (Cabestan), has been working with Smile’s management team since the end of 2013, particularly by guiding the company in successfully deploying its external growth strategy.
