Liontrust has agreed to acquire Majedie for an initial consideration of GBP80 million (including regulatory capital) plus up to GBP40 million for excess NAV and deferred consideration.
Majedie’s institutional fund management team will be joining Liontrust when the acquisition is completed in April 2022. On completion, the team will be renamed the Liontrust Global Fundamental team and continue to be headed by James de Uphaugh.
American Family Ventures along with new and existing investors including Bain Capital, ICONIQ Capital, LLC, G20 Ventures, Pillar, and General Catalyst, has led a USD60 million funding round in Hometap, a loan alternative for tapping into home equity without taking on debt.
The latest funding round brings total operating capital raised to date by Hometap to USD95 million.

And the asset class did not disappoint; with strong returns and growing inflows, investors continue to allocate to this sector in search of opportunity, risk mitigation and diversification.

Global tax software provider Sovos has acquired Germany-based TLI Consulting, a specialist in value-added tax (VAT) determination.
TLI Consulting serves businesses whose transaction and tax determination needs are too complex or costly to configure and maintain via native SAP and in-house tax experts. The company’s software solution extends native SAP VAT determination functionality, and its consultants have the integration and implementation expertise to ensure that SAP ECC or SAP S/4 HANA enterprise resource planning systems can seamlessly determine the right VAT decisions and tax codes for any outbound or inbound transaction.
RA Capital Management has led an oversubscribed USD40,750,000 Series A round of financing in NanoMosaic, the developer of a suite of analyte interrogation technologies which has successfully exported its platform to leading hospitals and institutes.

Headline Asia (formerly known as Infinity Ventures) has led a USD7.5 million Series A funding round in Xen Capital with the investment set to be used to scale Xen’s B2B2C alternative investment platform.
Xen Capital has created an open architecture client management platform for wealth advisors and asset managers, to solve the problem of distribution at scale, and has processed more than USD200 million of transaction volume in private market deals through its platform in the last 12 months.
