lool ventures, an early stage investor backing mission-driven Israeli-founders, has held the first close at USD60 million of its third fund (lool III) which is targeting USD100 million, bringinf the firm’s total AUM to USD200 million.  Through lool III, the firm will look to invest in approximately 20 companies, in most cases leading Seed rounds, whilst reserving capital to follow on through Series A and Series B. lool II is a top quartile fund by Net IRR and its companies already outperform the market with a 70 per cent “Seed to Series A” conversion rate. 
The Green Finance Institute has launched a new online knowledge resource, GFI Hive, designed to share the latest information and insights on how to increase private investment in nature restoration and nature-positive outcomes in and for the UK. Genstar Capital portfolio company Foreside Financial Group, LLC (Foreside), a provider of governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) solutions and technology offerings to clients in the global asset management industry, has acquired Alaric Compliance Services, a specialist in regulatory and compliance services. Founded in 2004, Alaric Compliance Services partners with a diversified and well-known client base, including private credit, private real estate and other alternative asset managers, advisors, broker-dealers, private fund managers, open and closed end funds, BDCs, CLOs, and more. 
Transatlantic venture capital firm Beringea has led a USD10 million Series A funding round in Learnerbly, an SaaS-enabled marketplace for workplace learning and development. 
Main Post Partners, a private equity investment firm with deep experience partnering with iconic brands and multi-location foodservice platforms, has a made a growth investment in  Krispy Krunchy Chicken. With 2,600 retail locations in 48 states, the company is one of the largest branded convenience store foodservice programmes in the United States. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Eurazeo, with support from Sapphire, has led a USD44 million Series B growth funding round in secret detection platform specialist GitGuardian. Existing investors including Balderton, BPI and Fly Ventures also participated.
HypnoVR, a market leader in the field of digital therapies to manage pain and stress, today announces that it has raised EUR4.5 million (USD5.1 million) in a Series A funding round.  This fundraising involved several newcomers, including lead investor Theodorus (Belgium), the Banque des Territoires (France) operating for the French state as part of the Investments for the Future Programme (Programme d’investissements d’avenir, PIA), Akiles (Belgium) and Capital Grand Est via Alsace Création (France).  They were joined by some of the company’s previous investors, including Guillaume Richard, founder and CEO of OuiCare (French market leader in home care services), and
Onex Corporation’s USD7.2 billion Onex Partners V fund is to acquire to acquire Tes Global (Tes), an education technology services provider, from Providence Equity Partners (Providence), a premier private equity firm that specialises in growth-oriented investments in media, communications, education and technology.   Financial terms of the deal, which will see the TES management team also invest alongside Onex, have not been disclosed. The transaction is anticipated to close in the first quarter of 2022, and will see Onex Partners V approximately 78 per cent invested.
