Private industrial investment company HLD Group has acquired Thurston Group – a specialist in modular building solutions for the education, commercial and healthcare sectors.
This major acquisition, which will ensure the ongoing operation and growth of Thurston Group, was facilitated by Independent Growth Finance, through a GBP16 million asset-based lending (ABL) facility that formed part of the total acquisition cost.
The acquisition is the largest deal in HLD Group’s 10-year history and is an important addition to its portfolio of companies. It also marks an ambitious step in the group’s investment strategy.

Future Planet Capital, a global university, impact and innovation investment group, has completed the acquisition of two venture capital firms: Milltrust Agricultural Investments and RT Capital.

Global privateer equity investor Advent International (Advent) is to to acquire Caldic BV (Caldic), a global premium provider of value-added life sciences and specialty chemicals solutions, from Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
Caldic will then merge with Advent portfolio company Grupo Transmerquim SA (GTM), one of the leading chemical distributors in Latin America.
Caldic’s product portfolio includes innovative food ingredients, natural products and functional solutions for a variety of life sciences and industrial end-market segments. Yukon Partners has held the successful final closing of Yukon Capital Partners IV and its associated parallel funds (collectively Fund IV) at USD625,945,000.
Fund IV will provide mezzanine capital to middle market businesses and is a continuation of the strategy from prior funds, most recently Yukon Capital Partners III, a 2017 vintage, USD558,740,000 fund.
Investors in Fund IV include domestic and international pension funds, international banking conglomerates, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, consultants, and family offices.
