Fondo Agroalimentare Italiano (FAI) has successfully completed its first exit with the sale of its stake in Sfoglia Torino.FAI’s 2017 investment in the company, alongside CEO Enzo Perrino and his family, enabled Sfoglia Torino to carry out an external growth strategy with the aim of consolidating the Italian frozen puff pastry sector and becoming an Italian market leader.

US-based Private equity investor Advent International (Advent) has completed its controversial GBP4 billion takeover of UK defence and aerospace company Cobham plc. Founded by Sir Alan Cobham in 1934, Cobham has approximately 10,000 employees around the world, and operations in North America, Europe, Australia and South Africa.
The Cobham investment is made by Advent’s USD17.5 billion private equity fund raised in 2019. Advent is a global firm, with a track record of more than 350 investments across 41 countries. Albion Capital has closed its 2019/2020 VCT top up offers earlier than scheduled after existing and new shareholder support resulted in full subscriptions totalling GBP34 million. Five trusts in Albion’s VCT range announced their fundraising offers in October.

The fundraising targeted varying amounts for each trust as a result of different levels of exposure to substantial exits across 2019. The fundraising targets were: GBP10m for Kings Arms Yard VCT PLC, GBP8 million for Albion Development VCT PLC, GBP6 million for both Albion Enterprise VCT PLC and Albion Venture Capital Trust PLC, and GBP4 million for Crown Place VCT PLC.
