Brookfield Asset Management has closed its latest flagship global private equity fund, Brookfield Capital Partners V (BCP V) with total equity commitments of USD9 billion. Based on strong investor demand, BCP V attracted total capital commitments exceeding the original USD7 billion fundraising target. BCP V’s predecessor fund closed in 2016 with USD4 billion of total capital commitments. Investors in the Fund are a diverse group of institutional investors, including public and private pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, financial institutions, endowments and foundations, family offices, and private wealth investors. CSC, a provider of specialised administration services to alternative asset managers, is to acquire TCS-Groep (TCS), a Netherlands-based service provider for alternative investment funds (AIFs). TCS offers fund administration and depositary services for alternative asset managers with a focus on real estate, private equity, private debt, and social impact funds, and manages more than EUR6.5 billion in assets on behalf of its clients. Hearthstone Investment Management Limited, an institutional investment manager specialising in UK residential property, has exchanged on 113 new homes across southern England and the midlands, on behalf of Hearthstone Residential Fund 1 (HRF1), its ten-year closed-ended private equity fund investing in the private rented sector across the UK regions. Molecular Products Group acquires the OC Lugo Company Molecular Products Group (Molecular Products), a portfolio company of Arlington Capital Partners (Arlington Capital), has acquired the OC Lugo Company.   The OC Lugo Company manufactures sodium chlorate-based chemical oxygen generators, and is a prime contractor for the US Navy. BGF, a UK and Ireland-based investor in growing businesses, has exited its investment in Thames Technology, one of the UK’s largest manufacturers and designers of payment, loyalty and gift cards. The business has been acquired by Paragon ID, the Paris-listed provider of identification and traceability solutions.   BGF first invested in Essex-based Thames Technology in 2013, with GBP3.1 million to support the acquisition of new manufacturing equipment. ButcherJoseph Financial Holdings, an affiliate of investment banking firm ButcherJoseph & Co, has acquired Laffer Investments Inc, an SEC Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). Laffer Investments was founded in 1999 by economist, Arthur B Laffer, PhD, and currently provides investment management advice to individuals and portfolio management services to institutions totalling almost USD600 million.
