Ten Coves Capital (Ten Coves), a growth equity firm with an exclusive focus on investments in FinTech companies, has held the closing of its third fund, Ten Coves Capital III (Fund III) with total commitments of USD293 million. The fund was oversubscribed and closed at its hard cap.   Ten Coves Capital was formed in December 2020 in connection with the spinout of the growth equity team from Napier Park Global Capital, and included the assumption and management of the first two growth equity funds. SUSI Partners, through its Energy Transition Fund (SETF), has launched a renewables platform in Poland together with Polish energy-as-a-service company Luneos. LGE, which was set up in late 2021, aims to build a sizeable, diversified portfolio of onshore wind and solar PV assets to support the transition of the Polish power market away from its heavy reliance on coal-based generation, benefitting from comparatively low costs of renewables in times of rising carbon prices. Private equity firm Summa Equity has closed its third fund (Fund III) with investor commitments of cEUR 2.3 billion (cSEK 23 billion). The Fund was closed in record time and was oversubscribed within four months in a fully virtual fundraising environment.    With its new fund, Summa Equity now manages aggregated capital commitments of close to EUR4 billion (cSEK 40 billion).  The announcement of Fund III comes three years after Fund II, and five years after Fund I. Fund I and Fund II closed with commitments of cSEK 4.7 billion (cEUR 470 million) and SEK 6.8 billion (cEUR 680 million)
Big Health, a digital therapeutics company dedicated to helping millions back to good mental health, has raised USD75 million in a Series C funding round, led by new investor SoftBank Vision Fund 2. ArrowMark Partners and existing investors Octopus Ventures, Gilde Healthcare, Kaiser Permanente Ventures (KPV), and Morningside Ventures, also participated.
Pixis (formerly known as Pyxis One), a provider of contextual codeless AI infrastructure for complete marketing optimisation, has secured US USD100 million in a Series C funding round led by SoftBank Vision 2. Pixis will leverage the fresh funds to help the company rapidly scale its AI platforms and plugins, as well as accelerate expansions across North America, Europe, and APAC.   The Series C round included participation from new investor General Atlantic, a global growth equity firm, plus existing investors Celesta Capital, Premji Invest, Chiratae Ventures, and Crimsonox Ventures. Sigma Defense, a portfolio company of Sagewind Capital, has acquired SOLUTE Inc, a technology and engineering firm that specialises in system modernisation with a focus on software engineering, cyber security, cloud architectures, and Development Security Operations (DevSecOps) for the US Department of Defense (DoD). The acquisition of SOLUTE broadens the Sigma Defense portfolio, expanding its existing capabilities for C5ISR, JADC2 and tactical SATCOM communications. Ropes & Gray has advised Monomoy Capital Partners, a middle-market private investment firm focused on operational value creation, in the formation of its fourth private equity fund (Fund IV). The fund was oversubscribed with commitments over USD1.1 billion. Monomoy secured commitments from a globally-diversified group of limited partners for Fund IV comprised of leading endowments, foundations, pension plans, insurance companies and family offices.
Wandercraft, a healthtech company in dynamic robotics and exoskeleton technology, has raised USD45 million in a series C round led by the US fund Quadrant Management plus existing investors Bpifrance and new participants MACSF, Malakoff Humanis, AG2R La Mondiale, Mutuelles Impact and Sofiouest. Other existing investors Xange, Eurazeo, LBO France and Cemag Invest also participated to the round. Funds advised by local private equity firm Permira, supported a co-investor, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), have entered into a partnership with Kedrion’s existing shareholders (the Marcucci family and FSI) to jointly acquire and combine Kedrion and BPL. Funds advised by Permira Credit, a European alternative credit provider, are acting as sole senior secured lender to Five Arrows Growth Capital’s acquisition of KidsKonnect. The support highlights Permira Credit’s focus on high-quality, growing tech-enabled businesses.   KidsKonnect is a childcare software provider offering fully integrated software solutions for daycare centres, out-of-school care, childminder organisations and primary education centres.  Collectively, the Permira Credit funds have invested approximately EUR13 billion since inception in a range of European debt products, including over EUR9 billion in European direct lending.
