Moelis hires John Grady as senior adviser

Investment bank Moelis has appointed John T. Grady as a senior adviser based in Boston.

Grady (pictured) will be responsible for working closely with client coverage bankers and product specialists to broaden client relationships and provide senior level advice and expertise to the firm and its clients.

Grady has over 25 years of experience in financial services in senior positions across asset management, private wealth management and banking.

He was most recently a managing director and head of new business development at Athena Capital, an investment management firm based outside Boston.

Prior to that role, he was the managing director responsible for the Lehman Brothers investment management division in New England. Previously Grady spent 14 years at State Street Global Advisors, where he was a managing director in the global private client group, a member of State Street’s executive operating group and was responsible for institutional sales, client service, consultant relations and charitable asset management.

"John brings us a wealth of experience and unparalleled high-level relationships with management of many key companies," says Ken Moelis, chief executive officer. "His deep knowledge of the financial services sector as well as his long-term connections within the New England business community will greatly enhance our client service and coverage."

Grady is a member of the board of overseers at Brigham Women’s Hospital and serves on the board of directors of the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies. He is also a member of the executive committee and chairman of the investment committee of the board of trustees for the Belmont Hill School.
