Washington DC-based private equity firm Monument Capital Group (MCG) has acquired Persistent Sentinel LLC, a provider of enhanced security and surveillance software products that automatically detect and analyse threats and protect assets.
Founded by former Carlyle executive Robert Dunn and former White House Special Assistant Douglas Baker. MCG focuses on investments in the homeland security and defence sectors. The acquisition of Persistent Sentinel will serve as a cornerstone of the firm’s overall efforts to bring leading edge security technologies to the global market.
Persistent Sentinel’s products are in use throughout the world by the military, international governments, and commercial entities for the protection of people, critical facilities/infrastructure, and large complex border programs. Built with intelligent agent technology, its software is designed to rapidly integrate all types of sensor and camera hardware, and other security products to include legacy systems and new advanced, leading-edge devices. Acting as an intelligent system of systems, the software manages vast amounts of information and provides a clear common operating picture in real-time, enabling the security operator to make rapid and accurate decisions.
The Physical Security Information Management space is expected to achieve dramatic growth rates over the next decade. MCG will be introducing Persistent Sentinel’s suite of products in all of the markets in which it presently operates throughout the world.
"We are excited about the opportunities Persistent Sentinel offers MCG, its investors, and international business partners. The company is run by an exceptional management team, with a long history of improving and refining their technology and gaining new customers. Persistent Sentinel’s market dominance, strong earnings, and global reach make it a perfect fit for MCG," says Dunn.
