MSCI has launched two new data and analytics tools – Private Asset and Deal Metrics and RCA Funds – aimed at helping General Partners (GPs) improve decision-making, performance benchmarking, and investor engagement across private equity and real estate markets.
Private Asset and Deal Metrics is based on data from over 26,000 private equity buyout deals, covering $2tn in net asset value. The platform is designed to help GPs benchmark performance, assess investment themes, and present more robust data to Limited Partners (LPs).
RCA Funds focuses on institutional real estate, offering insights drawn from profiles of 1,600 GPs, 800 LPs, and more than 8,000 real estate funds. It supports capital raising efforts by highlighting LP investment criteria and offering visibility into fund performance.
The launch comes as GPs continue to face challenges in the current market environment. According to MSCI’s recent General Partner Survey, over 50% of respondents reported difficulty sourcing attractive deals, while a third identified fundraising and capital flows as key concerns.
The new offerings expand MSCI’s existing suite of GP-focused products, which includes Private Capital Intel – a benchmarking tool built on LP-sourced private capital data – and a recent partnership with Intapp to enhance private capital market intelligence.
