VC and angel investor-backed Laundryheap has acquired competitor Laundrapp from Inc Retail. The deal, the terms of which remain undisclosed, follows a steady expansion of Laundryheap’s market footprint since it was founded in 2014. Laundryheap was founded in London by Deyan Dimitrov, Mayur Bommai and Ruxandra Lica and now operates across the UK and 10 additional international markets, including the US, Singapore, and the UAE. The Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) is looking for a US-based Minority, Women, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (MWDBE) private equity investment manager, according to a report by AlternativesWatch. The $54.7 billion scheme is looking to allocate a $50 million mandate across a raft of private equity strategies including venture, growth, lower and middle middle market buyout, co-investemt, and distressed and special situations and has issued an RFP to that effect. IMRF is said to be considering a closed-end, commingled fund structure and says that multiple firms may end up fulfilling the mandate.
CVC Credit has provided debt facilities to support the acquisitive growth strategy of Altano Gruppe (Altano), a network of equine veterinary clinics and practices across Europe. Cambridge Innovation Capital (CIC), a venture capital investor focused on building world-leading deeptech and life sciences businesses connected with the Cambridge ecosystem, has raised £225 million ($300 million) for its oversubscribed second fund (Fund II). With Fund II, CIC now manages in excess of £500 million, giving it the scale to support its portfolio companies throughout their life cycle, providing investment capital as well as strategic and operational support.   Investors in Fund II include a geographically diverse group of around 50 institutional and strategic investors, with almost half of the capital raised having come from UK-based investors.
finnCap Cavendish, part of finnCap Group, has advised on the sale of Tictrac Ltd, a UK-based SaaS provider of a global health and wellness platform, to Dialogue Health Technologies (Dialogue), a Canadian virtual healthcare and wellness platform, for up to CAD56 million. Bite Investments, an international alternative investments and technology company, has made four significant hires. Bite’s mission is to utilise its technology platform to expand access to the alternative investment ecosystem.   Justin Mason will become the Global Head of Asset and Wealth Management Sales, effective 25 April. Private investment house Ardian has raised $5.25 bn for its latest infrastructure secondaries fund – Ardian Secondary Fund VIII Infrastructure (ASF VIII Infrastructure).
