Global investment manager Igneo Infrastructure Partners (Igneo), has reached an agreement to acquire a 100% interest in Elliott Green Power Australia (EGP) via its Australian renewables business, Atmos Renewables.
The EGP portfolio consists of the Childers, Susan River and Nevertire solar farms with a combined capacity of 302 MW, generating approximately 500GWh of energy annually and powering over 100,000 homes. Each solar farm includes well-advanced co-located battery developments totalling 125 MW / 250 MWhs. Construction of the battery projects is expected to commence in 2022.

Venture capital investment manager, Deepbridge Capital has deployed a record £31.5 million into early-stage technology and life sciences companies during the 2021/22 tax year, up from £29.4 million in 2020/21.
Providing private investors with access to portfolios of innovative and growth focused companies, Deepbridge manages the Deepbridge Technology Growth EIS and Deepbridge Life Sciences EIS funds which offer private investors significant tax reliefs via the UK Government’s Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS).

Fenergo, a provider of digital solutions for Know your Customer (KYC) and client lifecycle management (CLM), has acquired Sentinels, an anti-money laundering (AML) transaction monitoring new market entrant with artificial intelligence (AI) based technology.
The acquisition, for an undisclosed amount, strengthens Fenergo’s ability to deliver end-to-end Software as a Service (SaaS) based-CLM with smart transaction monitoring to financial institutions. The deal comes as the industry continues to be challenged by rising financial crime, evolving regulations, operational inefficiencies, and pressure to deliver a better customer experience.

British Patient Capital has invested £20 million in Cambridge Innovation Capital’s (CIC) second investment vehicle (CIC II). CIC was launched in 2013 and invests in deep-tech and life sciences businesses that have a connection with the Cambridge ecosystem.
The £20 million investment forms part of CIC II’s total fund size of £225 milion. The new fund will lead, or co-lead, investments in R&D intensive businesses across deep-tech and life sciences which have the potential to become global category leaders. They will predominantly be early-stage companies at their Series A round.

The Washington State Investment Board (WSIB) has made two new allocations totalling $370 million to two separate funds managed by TPG, according to a repot by AlternativesWatch.
The $155 billion investment has allocated $250 million to impact fund Rise Fund III, which will make growth equity, growth buyout and venture capital investments in growth‐stage businesses across multiple industry sectors.
In addition, the WSIB has made a sidecar allocation of up to $120 million in TPG Healthcare Partners II.
Albourne America recommended both funds with the investments extending WSIB’s private equity portfolio in-line with its existing 2022 PE annual investment plan.
Stonepeak, an alternative investment firm specialising in infrastructure and real assets, has appointed Daniel Wong as a senior managing director, head of Europe.
Based in the firm’s London office, Wong will oversee Stonepeak’s continued expansion into Europe and build on Stonepeak’s existing strengths in infrastructure, energy transition, and ESG. Daniel will also join the firm’s Executive Committee.
Wong joins Stonepeak following more than 22 years at Macquarie where most recently he served as Global Co-Head of Macquarie Capital, including as Global Head of Infrastructure & Energy, as well as a member of the Executive Committee of Macquarie Group.
CertiK, a global Web3 and blockchain security firm, has secured an additional $60 million investment from SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and Tiger Global.
This marks SoftBank’s first venture into the Web3 security space. CertiK’s $88 million series B3 round and $2 billion valuation were announced within the past month, led by Insight Partners. This additional funding brings the total amount invested in CertiK over the past nine months to $290 million USD.

Maven Capital Partners (Maven) has led a £1.5 million investment in Roman Ltd (“Roman”), a business that manufactures, sells and installs shower screens, trays, bathroom furniture and fixtures and fittings.
The transaction includes an £800,000 investment from the Finance Durham Fund (Finance Durham) established by Durham County Council and overseen by Business Durham, and a £700,000 investment from the North East Development Capital Fund (NEDCF), supported by the European Regional Development Fund.
