Eurazeo has reached an agreement with Macquarie Asset Management, in a consortium with British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) and MEAG, to sell its 47 per cent stake in Reden Solar, a European independent solar power producer, based on a EUR2.5 billion Enterprise Value. Reden Solar is active across eight countries, with more than 750 MW in operation and a sizeable maturing pipeline. The disposal would generate cash proceeds of EUR632 million for Eurazeo, representing a cash-on-cash multiple of 4.3x and an internal rate of return (IRR) of around 42 per cent.    The completion of the transaction remains subject
Global alternative asset manager Tikehau Capital has appointed Ricardo Sommer as Head of Private Equity Germany, effective 7 March, 2022. Sommer will lead Tikehau Capital’s private equity activities in the DACH region. Based in Frankfurt, he will be responsible for building Tikehau Capital’s local private equity franchise, leveraging the firm’s established platform and global footprint.  Tikehau Capital opened its Frankfurt office in March 2021. Its client offering in Germany will aim to encompass all of its business segments: Private Debt; Real Assets; Private Equity; and Capital Markets strategies.
One Equity Partners (OEP), a middle market private equity firm, has completed the acquisition of Norit Activated Carbon (Norit), a global manufacturer of activated carbon for purification solutions, from corporate parent Cabot Corporation. Norit manufactures a broad portfolio of activated carbon products used for purification needs in growing sectors including renewable natural gas, food and beverage, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, air quality, water, and automotive. The Company operates two plants in North America, five facilities in Europe and participates in three joint ventures in Canada, Asia and Mexico.
nSure.ai, a fully automated chargeback guarantee platform, has raised USD18 million in a Series A funding round led by MoreTech Ventures. Seed-round participants including DisruptiveAI, Gryffin Ventures, and Moneta Seeds also made additional investments. The funding will allow the company to extend anti-fraud, chargeback-free guarantees while meeting the growing demand from various sectors who are lacking a sufficient fraud prevention system.

Convelio, a tech-led fine art shipping company, has raised USD35 million (EUR30 million) in a Series B funding round led by new investors Forestay, a UK and Switzerland based venture capital backers of Nexthink and Scandit, and Mundi Ventures, the international investment firm behind unicorns like Wefox, Bolttech, Klarna – and whose founder invested in unicorns like Skyscanner, Auto1 and Farfetch. The European Investment Fund and existing investors Acton Capital and Global Founders Capital also participated in the round – the largest investment ever made into an arts logistics business globally. British Patient Capital has invested in Microbiotica, a personalised medicine specialist, as part of a GBP50 million Series B funding round. The investment has been made via Future Fund: Breakthrough, British Patient Capital’s GBP375 million programme that makes co-investments with private sector investors in innovative, R&D-intensive UK companies.  The round was led by Flerie Invest and Tencent, and included Cambridge Innovation Capital, IP Group and Seventure Partners.
Apex Group (Apex) has been appointed by Starlight Capital (Starlight) for Fund Administration and Corporate Services. Starlight Capital was founded in 2021 by Tao Tang, co-founder of Eastern Bell Capital. British software and services provider Advanced has acquired Portt, a provider of SaaS procurement, contract and supplier management solutions in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) whose customers include NSW Health, Ministry of Education and Super Retail Group. Portt’s team, located in Sydney and Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam currently manages over 63,000 private and public sector suppliers across ANZ with a fast-growing user base of over 9,000. Portt had previously been working in partnership with Advanced in the UK public and private sectors.
