CVC Credit has co-arranged the unitranche debt facilities, featuring an ESG margin ratchet, to support Partners Group’s acquisition (on behalf of its clients) of Pharmathen, a European pharmaceutical company, which closed on 20 January 2022. CVC Credit will support the continuing growth strategy of the business through its European Direct Lending Strategy, which focuses on lending to established European medium and large companies with proven business models.   Founded in 1969, Pharmathen is a contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) specialising in advanced drug delivery technologies for complex generic pharmaceutical products.

Pictet Alternative Advisors (PAA), the Pictet Group’s wholly owned alternative investment business, has announced the launch of a second thematic private equity strategy, exclusively focused on health investments. The strategy complements PAA’s existing  thematic private equity franchise, initiated with the successful fundraising of its first fund dedicated to technology, which has been closed at a hard cap of USD350 million in September 2021.   The new strategy aims to invest in best-in-class biotech and healthcare-focused VC, Growth, and PE funds globally and will dedicate a substantial allocation to co-investments within its covered segments of high conviction.
Deliverect, a global scale-up that simplifies online ordering for more than 20,000 locations across 40 markets, has secured more than USD150 million (EUR130 million) in a Series D funding round led by Coatue and Alkeon Capital. Existing investors OMERS Ventures, DST Global, Redpoint Ventures, Newion and Smartfin, also participated in the round which brings Deliverect to USD240 million raised to date. This latest round values the company at over USD1.4 billion.

Chimera Capital Limited, an ADGM-regulated fund manager and wholly-owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi-based private investment fund Chimera Investment, has held the second close of its Alpha Wave Ventures II fund at USD10 billion. The fund, which is co-managed with Alpha Wave Global (formerly Falcon Edge Capital), will target high-quality, exclusive assets globally with a focus on FinTech, artificial intelligence, life sciences, consumer internet and B2B sectors.  Alpha Wave Ventures II is a multi-stage fund primarily concentrated on growth stage companies with clear exit strategies.
