Sun Capital Partners (Sun Capital), a private investment firm focused on investing in defensible businesses in growing markets with tangible performance improvement opportunities, has appointed Howard Eisen as Principal on the Investor Relations team, and Jennifer Wildroudt as Vice President of Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG). Eisen has over 20 years of investor relations and investment fund experience to Sun Capital. He joins from TMF Group, where he was Head of Business Development and was responsible for developing a full range of asset services to fund managers globally. Wildroudt meanwhile, brings more than a decade of ESG experience, most recently from
SoftBank Vision Fund, Speedinvest, and several venture capital partners have announced a collective USD8.7 million in committed capital to the nine start-ups that make up the first European edition of the Emerge accelerator programme for underrepresented founders.  The companies are: Blloc, Credrails, Fiat Republic, Juli, Kwara, Pear Bio, Robin AI, Vitaance, The Stack World.  Including the investment contribution from Emerge, these nine companies have gone on to cumulatively raise upwards of USD23 million in their latest funding rounds. 
The Riverside Company, a global private investor focused on the smaller end of the middle market, has invested in milliCare, a floor and textile care franchise brand, from Milliken & Company.  The company is an add-on investment to Riverside’s Clintar platform, offering franchise solutions for a wide network of commercial property maintenance and cleaning services.
North Sky Capital (North Sky), a specialist in impact investing, has appointed Monica Ravi as an Associate with the firm’s Impact Secondaries practice. Prior to joining North Sky, Ravi worked as both a Credit and an Investment Analyst at Commerce Bancshares, Inc, performing bottom-up analysis on portfolio companies, identifying divestment opportunities, and serving as part of a team managing USD3.6 billion in investments.
The appetite for private equity remains as strong as ever, with 35 per cent of institutional investors and an impressive 88 per cent of family offices and foundations reporting an allocation of more than 10 per cent of their portfolio to the asset class, according to Montana Capital Partners’ ninth MCP Annual Investor Survey – “Finding outperformance in private equity — how leading investors actively manage their portfolios”. Global investment firm KKR has launched Stellar Renewable Power (Stellar), a new platform that will source, develop and operate utility-scale solar plants and storage facilities on behalf of KKR’s Asset-Based Finance (ABF) strategy. Stellar will source opportunities through greenfield development and acquisitions of early-stage assets from other developers. Vijay Venkatachalam, a renewable energy expert with extensive experience developing utility-scale solar energy projects, will lead Stellar. Venkatachalam has spearheaded the development of nearly seven gigawatts of utility scale solar capacity in the United States and India, and he will be building out Stellar’s team of talented solar energy professionals over the
HarbourVest Partners, a global private markets asset manager, has appointed Cicely Yanxia Sun as a managing director and co-head of the firm’s Beijing office.  Sun, who has more than 15 years of experience in finance and joins HarbourVest from Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI), where she was Head of China Institutional Business, will be responsible for enhancing and building relationships with institutional investors in China.
Francisco Partners, a leading global investment firm that specialises in partnering with technology businesses, has led a strategic investment of approximately USD100 million in NZXT, a specialist in in PC gaming hardware and services.  In addition to Francisco Partners, strategic investors in NZXT also include leaders and entrepreneurs across multiple industries. Figure Technologies has launched a blockchain-powered solution that allows private companies to raise, manage, and trade equity on a single platform. Figure Equity Solutions is a full-stack equity management platform that supports seamless primaries and secondaries with automatic cap table updates pre-and-post-event.  To showcase the technology, the company successfully closed a secondary offering through its SEC-registered trading platform. Shares traded bilaterally, with instant settlement and minimal counterparty risk. The transaction also leveraged USDF, a new bank-backed, digital marker that allows for real-time settlement of securities transactions on the Provenance Blockchain.
Evercore has appointed Benjamin Eldredge as a Senior Managing Director in the Industrials Advisory {practice of the firm’s Investment Banking business based in New York.  Eldredge joins from Credit Suisse, where he was a Managing Director and Global Head of Basic Materials & Distribution within the Investment Banking Division, will lead Evercore’s efforts across Building Products, Distribution and Basic Materials.
