OpenGate Capital, a global private equity firm, has completed the acquisition of the North American and European amphoteric surfactant business from Solvay. As part of this transaction, the business has been renamed Verdant Specialty Solutions (Verdant), representing a new chapter of innovation and growth for the company. Terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

MacNeill Pride Group (MPG), a diversified global designer and manufacturer of outdoor products and sporting goods, has acquired GCI Outdoor (GCI), a leading designer of portable, built-to-last outdoor recreation equipment. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. MPG is a portfolio company of Centre Partners.

Private funds specialist, Dale Gabbert has joined European law firm Fieldfisher as Head of Funds. He joins from Simmons & Simmons where he was a funds partner since 2014, specialising in private equity, infrastructure, credit and hedge funds.
Foxway has acquired the German recommerce specialist Flip4 GmbH (Flip4). The transaction is an important part in Foxway’s strategy to become the leading company in reuse, repair and sourcing of ICT-devices in Europe.
Foxway is one of the largest specialists in IT-lifecycle management in Northern-Europe. The group has a turnover of EUR300 million in 2020 and employs more than 700 employees. Flip4 is one of the leading Recommerce businesses in Germany with around 40 employees located close to Frankfurt. Foxway has grown with over 30 percent annually during the last years.

NTR has appointed Anthony Doherty as Chief Investment Officer designate replacing outgoing CIO, Manus O’Donnell. Doherty has also been appointed to the board of NTR plc, taking his board seat in May 2021.
Doherty has been with the NTR group for eleven years and has extensive renewables investment experience across multiple technologies including wind, solar, energy storage and the bioenergy and energy-from-waste sectors. He has executed over EUR1.75 billion of renewable energy equity and debt transactions across Europe and the USA.

The additional deal with NPIF HTV Equity LP and also Mercia Fund Management Limited follows another sizeable deal for the brand with NVM Private Equity, handled by gunnercooke Corporate Partner Asad Ali two years ago.
Pure Pet Food, who appeared on Dragons Den, are an award-winning manufacturer of healthy, natural dehydrated and freeze fried pet food. The Yorkshire-based company was formed by Mathew Cockroft and Daniel Valdur Eha and since has grown to a huge global brand.
