Private equity funds managed by Blackstone Energy Partners have closed the sale of their approximately 42 per cent stake in Cheniere Energy Partners, to Brookfield Infrastructure and funds managed by Blackstone Infrastructure Partners.
The transaction values the approximately stake at USD7 billion.
The sale represents the culmination of Blackstone Energy Partners’ eight-plus years of involvement with Cheniere. In 2012 Blackstone Energy Partners and its affiliates invested USD1.5 billion in Cheniere Energy Partners to build the first two liquefaction trains at the Sabine Pass LNG facility in Louisiana. Align Capital Partners (ACP) has closed the fifth strategic add-on for its utility market intelligence, data science and consulting platform E Source, with the acquisition of Excergy, a consulting and technology implementation firm that partners with water, electric, and gas utilities and municipalities.
Excergy helps customers assess, design and deploy operational technologies, such as advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) solutions, through multi-year engagements.
Based in Denver, Colorado, Excergy’s services include all aspects of a project from determining technology needs, writing RFPs, vendor selection, implementation and integration, customer communication and project management to completion.
