Independent fund and corporate services provider, the Aztec Group, has announced two senior appointments to the Group’s Private Debt leadership team. James Vella-Bamber has been appointed as Group Head of Private Debt, while Peter Brown has assumed the role of Head of Private Debt in Luxembourg.

Sherpa Capital has acquired a stake in Spanish company CityBike, which was created in 2014 by the Moventia Group and is one of the leaders in the European micromobility market, with a special focus on the operation of public bicycle systems.

The Cayman Islands Private Funds Law 2020, which commenced on 7 February 2020 but will apply to all existing funds from 7 August, will extend the oversight role played by depositaries for many Cayman investment funds, according to INDOS Financial, an independent depositary and oversight group.The new law requires closed-ended investment funds domiciled in the Cayman Islands to register with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) and to comply with a number of new operating requirements, including:
