Growth private equity firm TA Associates has acquired Auction Technology Group (ATG), an online platform for auctions across Europe and the United States, from ECI Partners (ECI), and Proxibid, an online marketplace for connecting buyers and sellers across North America, from Primus Capital (Primus).Both ATG and Proxibid transactions closed on 13 of February 2020. The companies will be brought under the ATG umbrella with headquarters in London, but will retain substantial operations in Omaha, Nebraska, where Proxibid is headquartered. Dallas-based private equity firm CenterOak Partners’ (CenterOak) portfolio company Service Champions has acquired Bell Brothers Plumbing Heating and Air (Bell Brothers), a provider of residential air conditioning and plumbing services in Sacramento, California.The acquisition is the third since Service Champions received an investment from CenterOak and expands the Company’s footprint to over 40,000 residential service agreements. Buxeros Capital, a recently established public-private investment fund focused on Dutch companies in emerging economies and developing countries, has made its first investments. In the past few months, Buxeros has made three investments: Blue21, focusing on floating cities; Profort, which focuses on orthopaedic care; and AFRIpads, a company producing reusable sanitary pads. Blue21, which specialises in providing solutions focused on living on water, was founded by entrepreneur and investor Peter Thiel, and believes in the creation of self-sufficient, independent floating cities. Founded by Amsterdam-based social entrepreneur Merel Rumping, Profort provides orthopaedic aids to people in decentralised areas of developing countries.

High-Tech-Gründerfonds has invested in Munich startup Tangany, together with angel investors.     Tangany offers blockchain crypto storage solutions for companies in Europe and beyond. This includes the secure management of wallets in a kind of digital safe (so-called hardware security module) and the simple use and communication with various blockchains such as Ethereum, Bitcoin or the customer’s own blockchain. The solution can be integrated into any system using an interface (API). Alternatively, a white-label wallet solution can be used.

Legend Capital, a venture capital and growth investment firm in China, has closed the transfer of portfolio companies from LC Fund IV, a 2008 fund, into a USD200 million continuation vehicle. Accounts managed by an affiliate of Hamilton Lane acted as lead investor in the transaction, with several other prominent institutional investors participating in the syndicate. The investors also committed follow-on capital for strategic investments in the portfolio companies. LC Fund IV investors have the option of liquidity or opportunity to maximise portfolio companies’ value potential.
