Carey Olsen has cemented its position as the number one legal adviser to the investment funds industry in Guernsey, according to the latest findings of independent research group Monterey Insight.The 25th edition of the annual Guernsey Fund Report, which provides a comprehensive analysis of the performance of all funds serviced in Guernsey and their primary service providers, reports that for the year ending 30 June 2019, Carey Olsen provided legal advice to 798 Guernsey regulated investment funds, up from 750 a year previously, and now more than 600 ahead of its nearest competitor.

An affiliate of private equity firm Veritas Capital (Veritas) is to acquire Campus Management Acquisition Corp (Campus Management”) and Edcentric Holdings (Edcentric) from Leeds Equity Partners (Leeds Equity).Leeds Equity will continue as an investor in both companies in partnership with Veritas.

Evercore has appointed Joe Todd as a managing director in the firm’s Investment Banking business. 415 CAPITAL Management (415 CAPITAL) has held a first closing of its new medtech venture capital fund, 415 CAPITAL Fund I. The new fund will invest in medical device companies in Europe, Israel and the United States, with a focus on startups developing groundbreaking technologies to diagnose and treat Cardiovascular disease and its associated risk factors, including coronary artery disease, structural heart disease, stroke, hypertension and vascular disease. The fund will hold a final closing at up to USD100 million (EUR85 million) later in 2020.
